Jesus is not a social experiment.
He is not a story sold to us in the name of a religion
We were not forced to accept him.
We were not blinded by an opium.
This Jesus the world fondly talks about sometimes without knowing him, mostly from reported speeches from pulpits and streets, Tv commercials and TikTok shorts is more than what we think.
First he is a man, not a mango or a product some facets of religion sell to aid their suffering and make them prosper.
This product mentality is what kills the desire to know the Truth, because people would rather stick to their own rusty truths gotten from another person who tried it and drink whatever they believed about the Jesus product to feel among and then add other ingredients.
But he is not a drug you use when you feel the need, or that anti-hypertensive someone's mum wrongly said she only takes when she feels dizzy.
He is not an ATM machine you run to for urgent 2k needs. Neither is he a king you can whine and whine until your bore him out and he gives to you kilishi. He is not all that.
This product mentality makes it look as if it is all about the costomer/ consumer mentality and you never get to see the true side that it is actually all about Jesus Christ, His world view, his ideas, his perspective, his finished work and eternity, beyond the calendar system can take.
And so while you re busy using him for just the present, you may be missing out on the eternity plan. Cloths..check, food..check, drinks..check, houses check, or yeah, I got Jesus too, who you be?
Materializing Jesus didn't start today, it had been right from even his days on earth. You heard him say many shall do signs and wonders in his name and he ll say depart from me I know you not.
Many will use him as a tool for power, wealth and glory all in his name, but simply as a tool, once they are done they switch over to other things that keeps them going until the next gathering, for another performance.
And so its performance after performance. Some give to be seen, pray to be heard, even die to be known but it will only fill the air for a minute and it's forgotten only to be repeated again for the love of dopamine. A dopamine triggering system always keeps people coming back and wanting more, the pleasure of feeling to have pleased, but that's not Jesus.
The Pharisees were also lost finding Jesus, even while he was right in their midst. They were blinded by heritage and laws, they were told the things their fathers saw, and heard and they were stuck even till date (as at the time of writing), so they couldn't move on from there to see all they ever heard of in human flesh. It was hard for them to say the honest view, Running that temple system of worship and making money off the people, a business show without Jesus, a temple whose God is being tried by its Priest. But it had to happen that they may be blinded and that the Son of man may be crucified through their hands.
It is not easier for us today either, we practically have redefined Jesus to our taste of worship songs, church design, lights and smoke. Some can't even do less anymore saying, "God is not in that place". Mind you all these began with a good intension, ofcourse worship isnt more worship if done in the rain, but a roof over the head encourages it in many ways, the architecture and colours are beautiful but that's not where God is. No, God is not at that alter. He is not in the Church building or prayer houses. He moved, from the cross to tomb and finally into you, remember?
But many people have idolized these things, the bible is probably the most idolized book, people kneel on it, sleep on it, put it under their pillows, some even tear the paper into a water to drink. You see if you get any desired result from all that, you are worshipping a demon, not God. He is not there.
Many have read the words inside but with the wrong lenses or one painted by society and wrong teachings. Who reads a school book without first a good teacher teaching it first. God had mercy on the Ethiopian Eunuch when he sent Philip his way, lest he miscarries a lot of errors into a whole continent. The truth needed to be known and transmitted, this is why Philip caught up with the Chariot at the request of God "Join this chariot".
