I manage Happy Customer Supermarket, one of the proposed Hive hubs in Nigeria. Ever since the proposal post that featured us, have been working hard to meet the operating guidelines listed by the organizers. One of the things we have gotten is ready is promotional fliers which could be used to introduce new customers to Hive - both inside and outside the hub. I also got 7 face caps ready.
Flier design and printing
Promotional fliers are important for creating awareness about Hive and the hub. In order to quickly make the flier available, I decided to pick and modify a template from Canva. Below is the one I picked.
Template from Canva app
I had to make sure the design and modification fits Hive official colours - white, red and black. For the red, I also made sure the right colour code for red is picked #E31337.
Once the template is downloaded to my design software, it provided a place to start from. It took a few hours to reshap.and reposition some of the design elements. Then I also got the colours properly matched between the design elements and text. At the end, we have a nice flier with great write-up about Hive to introduce a newbie to Hive. Take a look below
Flier modified from Canva template
Once everything is ready, I proceeded to print the flier at a nearby printery. You can see the fliers laid and printed 5 pieces inside one A3 paper.
After the printing, the cutting was done quickly. So from the 60 A3 sheets, we have 300 fliers. These would be used for marketing purposes. At a glance, the writeup makes it easy for one to learn what Hive is all about and why they should join.
Face caps, banner and posters
I have 7 face caps already submitted to the printer as part of our last batch. So I contacted the printer to produce the prints. So You can see the 7 caps which I and the volunteers would wear. We are going to mass produce more face caps for sale. It's one of the first merch a new user could get to wear Hive.
Not too long ago, I already made this big banner for the newbies that we are onboarding. It would come handy for the new hub we are putting together. But that won't be enough. A graphics designer is already working on a new banner. It's a 10 feet by 6 feet banner to complement this one we have already. The banner should be ready in few days from now.
I am already designing posters and other stickers that would be placed at strategic places around the hub. These materials would show some of the Web3 features of Hive since as non-custodial wallets and other things.
Tentative official kickoff - Saturday 15th Nov, 2025
I will try to finish up the design and printing jobs within few days. I have strong plans to officially kick off the hub this coming Saturday. While our hub is always open every business day for enquiries about Hive, our official workshop days are Saturdays and Mondays. That is when all newbies are invited to come and seat in one audience to learn about Hive.
I am eager to create the largest hub space for Hive in Aba, Nigeria. Once we kick off, we hope to build and retain a strong network of Hive users in the city. We will hold meetups and other networking events to grow the community.
To our old members, also get ready as we will soon host our Hive meetup soonest for the month of October. We are growing and we can't wait to be the largest network of Hive users.
Thank you so much everyone
