Music is a powerful force in our lives and can change our emotions in an instant. It's one of my go-to's when I need upliftment, justification for feeling a certain way, changing the narrative or whatever it may be at the time.
My music collection is ever-growing and ever-changing too, just like you and I are as individuals. Come sit beside my Jukebox while I play you some tracks and I'll tell you a bit about myself along the way...
Anyone that reads my posts may know that I've been dealing with some things that have thrown me off kilter somewhat and music has helped tremendously in keeping me productive while moving through this terrain. I came across this song the other day while I was annoyed with myself and found it weirdly therapeutic. Sometimes we just want to disappear for a while and be invisible, step away from all the chaos and troubles to catch our breath.
I know y'all have felt like this at some point. Tell me I'm wrong?!
Apparently she has a lot of haters. Immaterial as to why, no denying she has an excellent voice and an impressive stage presence. She's a little bit edgy and conveys emotion that grips you, gets you nodding, tapping your foot and singing along.
I've just realised this is the second singer with blue hair I've posted. Must have been trendy.
Halestorm is a recent addition and I just love the angst and power that she puts into her music. It's primal. This track's a bit heavier than some of her other other stuff, but that bass line is sick.
This song takes me back to my teenage years when life was a lot simpler yet seemed much more complicated at the time. I was a well behaved rebel in school. Quite the oxymoron. Especially the moron part. The only one in my group of friends who knew what Rock 'n Roll was. They were listening to Mariah Carey and Whitney Houstan (I will always love youuuuuuuuuuuooooooooo - aaaaaahhhhhhhyyyyeeeeeee {breath} will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu) Good luck getting that out of your head now 🤣...They had no idea who legends like the Rolling Stones were. I was called a freak by many and I'm fine with it.
Then of course, there's Dorothy. Hmmm hmm hmmm this woman is a fucking legend. She's sexy, her voice is hypnotic and the best part? She has a cute sense of humour and knows the difference between THERE, THEIR and THEY'RE. While you listen to this song, you need to watch this video and read the subtext so you understand what's going on - it's hilariously good. This song rocks, but I like almost all of her stuff.
I'm dedicating this song to after our recent conversation and because she'll get it and appreciate the humour.
Thanks to for the #TTT initiative, it's really fun.
