I went for my cervical cancer screening today.
It’s recommended to get it every two years, but I kept putting it off, and before I knew it, my last one was at the end of 2022. A few years before that, I had surgery for a benign ovarian cyst, and I was advised to have annual check-ups for follow-up… but yeah, quite a bit of time ended up passing.
At the beginning of this year, I finally made appointments for today’s cervical screening and my regular health check-up (it was actually on last year’s “things I want to do” list…). The health check-up is scheduled for early March… literally the last possible moment I can still get it done this fiscal year. Honestly, when it comes to anything health-related, I just get so heavy-footed and end up hating myself for it.
I booked a 9:30 slot and arrived at the hospital a little early. After the screening, I went down to the Doutor Coffee on the first floor of the same building to take a breather. When I checked my phone, it was only 9:40.
Seriously… All that procrastination, this screening had been nagging at the back of my mind for the past 2–3 years, and yet the whole thing took less than 30 minutes in total!!
I really should have just booked it and gone as soon as possible, at the very first available date. One task checked off the list, and I do feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, though.
They said the results will be mailed to me in about a month or so. Please, please let everything be normal 🙏

今日は子宮頸がん検診に行ってきました。
2年に一度の受診が推奨されていますが、しばらくサボっていて気がつけば前回受けたのは2022年末でした。その数年前に卵巣嚢腫（良性）の手術を受けており、経過観察として年1回の受診を勧められていたのですが。。。ちょっと間が空いてしまいました。
年明けにやっと、今日の子宮頸がん検診と、健康診断の予約を入れました（本当は去年のうちのやりたいことリストに入っていました）。健康診断は3月の初め・・・受診できるギリギリのタイミング。ほんと、自分の健康関連となると腰が重くて嫌になってしまいます。
9時半に予約を入れ、少し早く病院に着きました。検診の後、同じビルの1階にあるドトールで一息ついたのですが、スマホを確認すると9時40分でした。延ばし延ばしになっていて、この2〜3年ずっと心のどこかに引っかかっていた検診だというのに、トータル30分もかからなかったのです。
えええ・・・😅こんなことなら、一番早いタイミングでさっさと受診すればよかったです。タスクが一つ完了して、肩の荷が降りた感はありますが。
結果は概ね1ヶ月前後で郵送で届くとのこと。どうか異常ありませんように。
