Chain Reaction: Many Things Are Broken in My House
Once something is broken, it will have a chain reaction strangely. Some say, 10 years is the turning point for electrical products or house interiors. I don't feel good about this phrase. However, true or not, my house things are breaking down little by little more and more.
Phew... it's not a good feeling to see the broken stuff. If it's possible to fix it, I would like to fix but if we need to purchase it, it can't be helped.
In the following years, I fixed a fridge, kitchen faucet, heat pump, vacuum cleaner, computers, and phones. Recently, I needed to buy a new washing machine. Also, I needed to fix outside stuff a lot. My husband is trying to fix many things as much as he can. However, sometimes it's very difficult to fix by ourselves. The fixing fees are very expensive here, so he often watches videos to fix them.
This outlet suddenly broke. Plastic... I couldn't find the exact same one, but I found a new one. My husband fixed it.
When my husband was just about to fix something, he noticed that the automatic drill didn't work. Okay, we had to buy a new one. I hope the new one works well for a long time.
The old hand pruner finally broke. It was already half broken when I got it from someone. I had no chance to buy a new one, but finally, I've got a new one! The new one is very sharp, light, and easy to use.
Oh my goodness... We had a chain reaction of breaking household items. When I tried to open the blind in the dining room in the morning, the string broke. I can't open the blind anymore.
We checked a home hardware store but couldn't find a nice one. We decided to order online. We measured, checked, and ordered very carefully what we wanted. We also decided to replace some blinds, installing new ones for our bedroom instead.
When we got the new blinds, my husband installed them using the new drill. Just as he was about to call me from the bedroom, he said, 'Oh noooooo.'
When I checked, the length of the new blind was too short. It didn't cover the window at all. We contacted the company immediately, but they asked us to double-check. We needed to send proof in the form of videos and photos and negotiate a few times, but finally, they accepted their mistake.
Finally, we received the correct size. It covers our bedroom window fully. Phew... hopefully, no more breakdowns in our house for a while. We have a lot of fixing projects outside the house anyway.
By the way, I put this blind outside for a big garbage day, and someone picked it up. It's nice if someone can recycle it.

連鎖反応：家の中のものが次々に壊れる

何かひとつ壊れると、おかしなことに連鎖反応が起こります。１０年で大体の家電や家のものが壊れるものだとよく人は言います。私はその言葉があまり好きではありません。ところが、その言葉が本当か嘘かは別として、我が家のものが少しずつ次から次へと壊れていきます。
ふぅ…。壊れたものを見るのはいい気分ではありません。修理することが可能であれば直して使いたいですが、新品を購入しなければならないときは仕方がありません、
ここ数年で、冷蔵庫、流し台の蛇口、エアコン、掃除機、パソコンや携帯などを修理しました。最近は、洗濯機を購入しなければなりませんでした。さらに修理した箇所はたくさんあります。主人はできるだけ自分で修理しようとしてくれていますが、ときどき自分たちだけではどうしようもないものもあります。とは言っても修理費がかなり高いので、なるべくビデオなどを見て自分たちで修繕しています。
コンセントが突然壊れました。プラスチックはこれだから…。まったく同じものを見つけることができなかったのですが、新しいものを購入しました。主人が取り付けてくれました。
主人が別の箇所を修理しようとしたところ、電動ドリルが壊れていることに気がつきました。はいはい、新しいものを購入しなければなりません。新品のドリルは長い間もちますように。
古い剪定ばさみが壊れました。もらった時にすでに壊れかけていたのですが、買い換えるチャンスを逃していました。やっと新しいものを購入しました！新しい刃は鋭くて、軽くて使いやすいです。
なんてことでしょう…家のものがどんどん連鎖反応で壊れていきます。朝起きてダイニングのブラインドを開けようとしたら、ブラインドの紐が切れてしまいました。ブラインドを開けることはできません。
ホームセンターを見て回ったのですが、いいものがありませんでした。そこでオンラインで注文することにしました。測って、確認して、サイズを間違わないように慎重に注文しました。新しく注文するブラインドは寝室に取り付けることにしました。
新しいブラインドが届いたので、早速主人が新しいドリルを使って窓に取り付け始めました。終了間際に主人が私を呼ぼうとしたところ、「あーぁぁぁぁぁ」という声が聞こえてきました。
見てみると、ブラインドの長さが足りず、まったく窓がかくれていませんでした。注文先の会社に問い合わせたところ、もう一度きちんと確認するように言われました。ビデオや写真で証拠を送って何度かやり取りをした上でやっと受け入れ、正しいサイズを送ってもらえることになりました。
やっとのことで、正しい商品を受け取りました。寝室の窓をきちんとカバーするブラインドが届きました。ふぅ…。家のものがこれ以上壊れないことを願います。外にはまだまだ直さなければならない箇所があるのですが…。
そういえば、この壊れたブラインドを粗大ゴミの日に出していたところ、誰かがリサイクルしていきました。全体的にはきれいなので再利用してくれるのであれば嬉しいです。
