Heroes and Heroism
Recently, I wrote about MARVEL cards. The local supermarket is still running the MARVEL promotion, but I've decided not to collect the cards anymore. Instead, I'm donating them because I want to declutter, especially since I recently did a major cleanup.
While grocery shopping the day before yesterday, I noticed many hero-themed cakes for children on the shelves. These cakes are likely for birthdays or other special occasions. It made me wonder why we are so drawn to heroes and heroines.
I've been reading about the 'Hero's Journey,' which is connected to Jung's concepts. I think I have a deep love for heroes from myths. I enjoy reading, watching, or listening to stories about them.
I also started thinking about the colour red and its significance. Some say red represents 'passion.'
Red can symbolize power, love, activity, passion, fire, grounding, new beginnings, and even anger or rush recklessness.
Many heroes use red as their symbol colour. If I were to create my own hero character, I think I would choose black and white. My husband suggested green, like the Green Lantern. But why black and white? I suppose I like the concept of Yin and Yang. Everyone has both dark and light sides. While there are many dark heroes and purely good heroes, I’d want to combine both aspects into one character. I've designed similar characters before, and I hope to share them and write about them someday soon. The top image was generated by AI. This character is also blue and red.
This is Groot, a character I love because it’s not human but has a gentle yet strong personality. As for the cakes, they look fun and are great for celebrating, especially for kids. I think these cakes might inspire children to think about becoming heroes themselves.

ヒーローとヒロインについて
先日、マーベルのカードについて書きました。地元のスーパーでは現在も引き続きマーベルのイベントをしていますが、数ヶ月前に大掛かりな断捨離をしたばかりなのでカードを収集することはやめました。前回もらったカードは寄付することにしました。
おととい食材の買い出しに出かけた際、店内の棚にはヒーローものをテーマにしたこども向けケーキが陳列されていました。誕生日や特別な時用のケーキだと思います。なぜ私たちはこんなにもヒーローやヒロインに惹かれるのでしょう。
ユングの概念と関連していると言われているヒーローズジャーニー（英雄の旅）について読んでいました。私は伝説や昔話に関連しているヒーローの話が大好きです。そのような物語を読んだり、観たり、聞いたりするとワクワクします。
赤い色の意味について考えていました。赤は「情熱」の色だとよく言いますよね。
赤はパワー、活動、愛、情熱、炎（火）、グラウンディング、新しい始まりを象徴するほか、怒りや猪突猛進の象徴でもあります
赤がシンボルカラーのヒーローはたくさんいると思います。もし自分なりのヒーローキャラクターを作るとしたら私は白黒にします。主人はグリーンランタンのような緑がいいと言っています。では、私はなぜ白黒なのでしょうか。おそらく陰と陽の概念が好きだからだと思います。ある程度はみんな陰の部分と明るい部分を持っていると思います。よくダークヒーローと正義の味方のヒーローがいると思いますが、そのふたつをミックスしたキャラクターがあると面白いと思います。すでにその感じをデザインしたアートがありますので、いつかそのことを書きたいと思います。いちばん上の画像はAI画像です。このAI画像のヒーローもやっぱり青と赤ですね。
これはグルートです。グルートは人間ではないキャラクターで、優しく強い性格の持ち主です。こんなにヒーローっぽさのあるケーキでお祝いする子供たちはきっと楽しいでしょう。どんなヒーローになりたいか考えながら食べるのではないでしょうか。
