Ordering Wood for a Wood Stove
Recently, our wood for the woodstove was delivered. We ordered 2 cords this time because we used almost all of our wood last winter. Last winter was very cold towards the end. We were supposed to finish using our woodstove in February or early March, but we used it until the end of March. Even in April, I think we burned some leftover wood until it totally became spring.
Here we go! We got wood like this. It was dumped in our parking area. I like the smell of wood, and it motivated us to work on stacking it, but we haven't started carrying it to the woodshed yet.
I liked the wood delivery guys because they were very gentle. I appreciate forestry workers. One of my great-grandfathers was a calligraphy teacher, and his former job was in forestry. I can't imagine how tough it must be to plant, grow, and prepare wood like this.
I wonder how we could change our lifestyle regarding winter resources in the near future. For now, I appreciate the blessings of nature.

薪ストーブ用の薪を注文する
最近、注文していた薪ストーブ用の薪が配達されました。去年の冬は思ったよりも多くの薪を使用したので、今回は２コード注文しました。去年の冬はかなり寒かったです。２月から３月初旬にかけて薪ストーブの使用を終了できると思ったのですが、結局３月下旬まで使用しました。４月に入っても完全に春の暖かさがやってくるまで残っている薪をくべてストーブを使用しました。
さてさて、こんな感じで薪が届きました！駐車場付近にドサっと置かれました。私は木の香りが好きです。こうやってドッと届くことで片付けなければならないという気合が入りますが、まだぜんぜん薪小屋へ運んではいません。
薪を運んでくれた方たちはとても優しかったです。そのような方たちにとても感謝します。私の曽祖父は書道の先生をする前は林業をしていたそうです。木を植え、育て、薪の準備をするのはたいへんな作業だと思います。
私たちの冬の資源はいったいどのような方向へと進んでいくのだろう…とよく考えます。現在は、とにかく今ある自然に感謝しています。
