Parcel From Japan
I got a parcel from Japan safely this time! However, customs at the airport took a long time to check my parcel. I couldn't get information for almost two weeks after it entered customs. I called the post office and checked the online tracking service many times, but their answer was always 'no idea.'
The post office advised me to call them earlier before the parcel was sent back to Japan. Unfortunately, customs sent my parcel back to Japan twice last year, so I have to be careful not to leave the issue unresolved for a long time.
Last time, customs tore my address label off the box, so I asked my mother to write my address on the box itself. She wrote my address in three spots for me!
Finally, when I received the parcel, the paper and address looked torn, but luckily, they put the paper back this time. Phew... my big anxiety is gone!
My dog looked very curious about all of them. He loves to hear the package sounds and thinks all of them are for him. There were some snacks, noodles, food which I couldn't buy in my area, gifts for my students, pens, cosmetics, and some comfortable clothes in the parcel.
My mother is very good at packing nicely. She spent a lot of time preparing and creating the document for customs. I really appreciate those gifts, of course, but I appreciate my mother's kindness even more.
Oh! There was a mini gift for Dude (my dog) as well! He looked so happy with it. There was a small note that said 'To Dude' with pretty drawings.
When I opened the mini gift, there was dried fish inside. He loves to eat a snack when he comes back from his walk.

日本からの荷物
日本からの荷物が今回は無事に届きました！しかし、空港の税関でかなり長い間検査されていたのでドキドキでした。税関に入ったというお知らせを受けてから約２週間くらいまったく音沙汰なかったのでかなり心配になりました。郵便局に連絡したり追跡サイトをなん度も確かめましたが特に変動がなく、郵便局に問い合わせても「わからない」との返答でした。
以前、税関から荷物を日本に送り返されないよう郵便局にこまめに問い合わせるようにとアドバイスをもらいました。残念なことに、去年は２回日本に荷物を送り返されてしまったのです。ですから、今回も送り返されてしまわないように気が気ではありませんでした。注意深くこまめに確かめるようにしました。
前回は、ダンボールに貼り付けてあった住所や書類がすべて剥がされてしまっていたため、今回も剥がされないかどうかが心配でした。書類がぐちゃぐちゃになってはいましたが、今回はかろうじて書類が箱にくっついていました。ふぅ…、やっと不安が消えました！
私の愛犬は荷物に大興奮しています。パッケージの音を聞くのが大好きで、すべて自分用だと思っているのです。お菓子、麺類、この辺りでは買えない食品、生徒さんへのプレゼント、ペンや化粧品、心地よさそうな部屋着などが入っていました。
母は荷物を詰めるのがとても上手です。時間をかけて送るものを用意し、税関用の書類もしっかり用意してくれます。もちろん贈り物には感謝していますが、親切にしてくれていることに感謝でいっぱいです。
おっ！ドュード（愛犬）への贈り物も入っていました。嬉しそうです。小さな袋に「ドュードへ」と書いたメモにかわいいイラストが描いてあります。
袋を開けると、中から乾燥小魚が出てきました。散歩から帰ってきて小魚を食べるのが楽しみです。
