Hello Anime Fans, it's another great week, let's talk about Jujutsu Kaisan, but this time Season 2 of it, I had to sit down to see this season 2 well, and here's what I have to say about it.
So season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen is one of those seasons that does not just entertain you, yeah... it drains you emotionally and still asks for more, this season came in like (let’s give you backstory) , and before you could even settle in, it said (okay now suffer), honestly speaking I wasn’t prepared for this.
So the season starts by taking us back in time, now focusing on Gojo and Geto when they were still just students, at first, it felt calm, almost as soft, You see Gojo before he became that Gojo that we knew in season one, and Geto before everything went wrong, their friendship is one of the highlights of this arc, You can tell they trusted each other deeply, and watching that bond slowly crack is painful in a quiet way, this part of the season makes you understand that villains aren’t always born bad, sometimes they are just broken by the world.
Then comes the Shibuya Incident… and from that point on, peace officially leaves the chat, Shibuya is chaos, like very pure chaos, everyone is fighting, civilians are trapped, curses are everywhere, and there is this constant feeling that things are not going to end well,no one feels safe, not even the strongest characters, the stakes are high, and the anime does not try to comfort you, It just keeps going.
Yuji this season really suffers, and you feel it, he’s forced to face the consequences of being Sukuna’s vessel in the worst way possible, watching him carry guilt, pain, and responsibility is heavy, this isn’t the cheerful, hopeful Yuji from earlier, this is someone being crushed by reality, and honestly, that is what makes his character so real.
Gojo’s role in this season is also wild, without giving spoilers, lets just say the anime reminds us that even power has limits, and once Gojo is taken out of the equation, everything feels darker, You suddenly realize how much everyone depended on him.
The side characters shine a lot this season tooNanami, Maki, Nobara, Megumi, everyone gets moments that make you pause and go “yeah, this anime doesn’t play.” Some scenes hit emotionally, some are brutal, and some just leave you staring at your screen in silence.
Animation wise, Season 2 is insane, the fights are fluid, intense, and sometimes overwhelming in the best way, MAPPA really went all out, you can feel the impact of every punch, every curse technique, every explosion, even the quiet scenes carry weight because of how well they are directed.
But what really makes Season 2 special is its tone, it is indeed darker, more mature, and more unforgiving, there are real consequences, Characters do not just walk away because plot said so, things happen, and they stick.
By the end of the season, you are not the same viewer you were at the start, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 doesn’t just move the story forward , it changes the entire mood of the series, It is painful, beautiful, chaotic, and unforgettable.
If Season 1 pulled you in, Season 2 makes sure you’re emotionally locked in,this is one of those anime seasons people will still talk about years from now, no doubt.
