Hi guys, Been a while here, glad to be back... so I watched Demon Slayer sometime last month, and to be honest I didn’t even expect to like it as much as I did, You know how some people hype shows so much that you start watching with side eye like, “okay now, impress me.” yes this was me, But Demon Slayer didn’t come to play at all in any way.

The story starts with Tanjiro, this sweet boy that just wants to take care of his family, selling charcoal and also minding his business, next thing, life just decides to scatter everything, just one trip down the mountain, and by the time he comes back, his whole family has been wiped out by demons, like, there was no warning, no gradual buildup straight heartbreak.
The only person left was his sister, Nezuko, but even that one comes as a plot twist because she has turned into a demon, But somehow, she still has her sense of love and loyalty towards Tanjiro, That part was really touching, Because it’s like, no matter how life changes you, your heart can still recognize your own people.

This is where Tanjiro begins this journey to find a cure for her and also fight demons along the way, what I really like is that Tanjiro is not one of those “angry revenge” protagonists, he’s actually soft, but strong too, Emotional, but determined, he will fight you but still cry for you.
Then we have the training arc, that part humbled him, the guy was cutting rocks, running up and down mountains like someone preparing for some kind of endurance trek, And the animation during that whole “water breathing” sequence? Chef kiss, I think Demon Slayer really stood out because of the animation style, It’s not just fine, it's dramatic fine too.

When he finally joins the Demon Slayer Corps and we start meeting other characters, that’s when the show gets more lively, Zenitsu with his dramatic crying and all that silliness, but once he sleeps, he turns to Michael Jackson doing lightning choreography , I loved that boy’s duality, inosuke too, acting like a tout with a boar mask, I initially thought he didn't have human head,he behaves like someone that has never interacted with humans before, Their dynamic as a trio? Pure chaos, but in a way that balances the emotional weight of the story.
Now let’s talk about that Mount Natagumo arc ,because that’s where Demon Slayer really showed that it came to shake the anime streets, rThe fight with Rui, the spider demon boy, was one of the cleanest fight animations I’ve ever seen. The choreography, the pacing, that sudden power up with the fire dance — everything just synced. And Nezuko’s blood demon art awakening at that moment? Goosebumps. I remember I just paused and stared like, “God, who animated this thing?”

But what touched me was how they even gave Rui a sad backstory. Like why must we start crying during a fight scene? Can’t we just beat demon and go home? Demon Slayer really shows that people become “monsters” for different reasons, and sometimes pain is the root of everything.
By the end of season 1, we meet the Hashiras — and honestly seeing them line up, you just know the story is about to expand like crazy. Everyone there has vibe, attitude, and backstory waiting to scatter somebody’s emotions.
So In general, Demon Slayer Season 1 is that anime that starts soft and continues to pulls you in emotionally before you realize you are attached, beautiful animation, emotional storytelling, dramatic fights, and characters that feel alive.
