Hello everyone, how are you? I am very happy to have found this community, I am an old man of more than 30 years who still likes anime, I think there is no age for that and if I am lucky enough to become old, I will be a old man otaku ....
Instead of giving you a lot of information about myself, I would like to tell you a little about which one in my favorite anime of all my life and why.
I do not think it is the best, because later others came who seemed better in history, characters and animation, but this anime has a very special place in my life.
Because of my age, I come from a time where the world was not yet as globalized as it is today, when I was in elementary school, I met with my friends to watch Mazinger Z, Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa and other animes, but the funny thing is that for us they were like any other cartoon, we did not know what anime was and much less manga, our favorite "cartoons" were anime and we did not know.
Anyway, time passed and I kept watching anime without knowing what that was, I just enjoyed those stories so passionate and full of creativity and imagination immensely, when I went to high school one of my favorite channels was Cartoon Network, especially because in the night they had a bar called Toonami, I really liked seeing Samurai Jack, Yu yu Hakusho, Inuyasha etc.
Among all those animes and programs there was a series of a Samurai with an "X" on his face, whenever that anime started he would remove it or watch it while doing other things, it had something that did not quite catch my attention. Something in the design of the character and the style of humor I did not quite like.
But everything changed one day when arriving from my house I saw this:
The "first" (those who have seen the anime will understand the quotes) Kenshin vs Saito fight is for me one of the best 10 anime fights of all time, it does not last long, but it is full of tension and impressive emotional charge .
I could not believe what I was seeing, I had many years without getting so excited about a television program, from that moment I began to follow the anime of Rurouni Kenshin (Samuai x in my land) religiously, I lost count of how many times I saw it full.
But that anime is very important to me not only because I love everything about it, it is relevant in my life because from that day on, I started looking for more information on Rurouni Kenshin and wanted to see everything that was available from that anime, it that he took me to know the eggs and the sleeves and of course, I opened the panorama to discover a lot of animes that at that time did not reach television.
Nowadays, after having seen hundreds of animes, I cannot say that it is the best, but it will always have a very special place in my memories, also, I still maintain that the Makoto Shishio arc is one of the most exciting things. and best made in all the history of animation.

Hola a todos como están, me da mucho gusto haber encontrado esta comunidad, soy un viejo de mas de 30 años al que le sigue gustando el anime, creo que para eso no hay edad y si tengo la suerte de llegar a viejo, seré un anciano otaku....
En vez de darles un montón de datos sobre mi persona, me gustaría contarles un poco de cual es mi anime favorito de toda mi vida y porque.
No me parece el mejor, porque después llegaron otros que me parecieron mejores en historia, personajes y animación, pero este anime tiene un lugar muy especial en mi vida.
Por mi edad, vengo de una época en donde el mundo todavía no estaba tan globalizado como hoy en día, cuando estaba en la primaria, me reunía con mis amigos a ver Mazinger Z, Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa y otros animes, pero lo curioso es que para nosotros eran como cualquier otra caricatura, no sabíamos lo que era el anime y mucho menos el manga, nuestras "caricaturas" favoritas eran animes y no lo sabíamos.
En fin paso el tiempo y yo seguía viendo anime sin saber que era eso, solo disfrutaba enormemente con esas historias tan apasionantes y llenas de creatividad e imaginación, cuando iba a la secundaria uno de mis canales favoritos era Cartoon Network, en especial porque en la noche tenían una barra llamada Toonami, me gustaba mucho ver Samurai Jack, Yu yu hakusho, Inuyasha etc.
Entre todos esos animes y programas había una serie de un Samurái con una "X" en su cara, siempre que empezaba ese anime lo quitaba o lo veía mientras hacia otras cosas, tenia algo que no terminaba de llamar mi atención. Algo en el diseño del personaje y el estilo de humor no terminaba de gustarme.
Pero todo cambio un día que llegando a mi casa despues de un día de clases, prendí la televisión, y justo en ese momento vi esto:
La "primera" (los que han visto el anime entenderán las comillas) pelea de Kenshin vs Saito es para mi una de las mejores 10 peleas del anime de todos los tiempos, no dura mucho, pero esta llena de una tensión y carga emocional impresionante.
No podía creer lo que estaba viendo, tenia muchos años sin emocionarme tanto con un programa de televisión, a partir de ese momento empece a seguir el anime de Rurouni Kenshin (Samuai x en mi tierra) religiosamente, perdí la cuenta de cuantas veces lo vi al completo.
Pero ese anime es muy importante para mi no solo porque me encanta todo de el, es relevante en mi vida porque a partir de ese día, empece a buscar más información de Rurouni Kenshin y a querer ver todo lo que había disponible de ese anime, lo que me llevo a conocer las ovas y los mangas y por supuesto, me abrió el panorama para descubrir un montón de animes que en ese tiempo no llegaban a la televisión.
Hoy en día, después de haber visto cientos de animes, no puedo decir que es el mejor, pero si que siempre tendrá un lugar muy especial en mis recuerdos, además, sigo sosteniendo que el arco de Makoto Shishio es una de las cosas más emocionantes y mejor hechas en toda la historia de la animación.
