For the past few weeks, I've been following the One Punch Man anime and also keeping up with the comments about its animation and how the studio's quality has been this season compared to the second, and especially the first, which was a real spectacle.
And the truth is that in this arc, which I think is one of the most important in the entire series, they've been a bit weak in terms of animation, from my perspective. I'm not going to talk about the story beats because I feel they've done a good job recreating several of the panels from the manga, but as for the animation, I think they've It's been cut quite short, or they haven't been given enough time to make it.
I'm talking about poor artwork, as well as animation that is mostly blurry. The studio's quality seems to be highlighted mainly by the excellent first season of this anime, which now appears to be... Lacking rhythm and fluidity in the fights, watching a seinen manga requires fluidity in the fights, otherwise you'll be criticized by most of the readers.
The change in studio was one thing; there were new character designs, and in a way, they slightly degraded the quality of the second season. But there was also a different work structure, perhaps with fewer resources or fewer animation specialists than in the first season.
In fact, I think it's much more important to have a good director at the helm of your studio than to have hundreds of animators who are prodigious at their work. I think the first season was a mix of both. And while the second season had some good animation, I feel the studio didn't quite live up to expectations or maintain the quality. And now, in this third season, I think they needed much more time and a better director to handle the fight scenes properly.
Watching the latest episodes, I see they've done a good job of paying homage to the manga panels, but when we're talking about anime and animation, I think there needs to be a bit more to it than just having the panels drawn. and colored with a bit of animation, but also the director's job is to take that panel further so that we, the viewers, can be amazed. That's something that happened in the first season and isn't happening in this third one.

Even in the episodes where fights are predominant, I feel that this is partly the fault of the developer behind it for not providing a sufficient budget and The time needed for all these animators to properly develop the fight scenes is a shame, but I feel they released it in this incomplete way, knowing that this anime is beloved by everyone. And surely many more people would have watched it even if it were complete.
There are many shortcuts in the characters' movements, simplified or reused, which diminish the final visual quality. Not only that, but we've seen animators complain that the takes or drawings they made weren't included in the final result, which I find outrageous considering that many of these animators are stars in this industry. It's not just about the animation; the scenes are also structured. or the cuts that convey the desired impact
It's quite sad to see this anime in this state, but it is what it is. I hope that for the fourth season, which features one of the most epic fights in all of seinen anime and manga, they can have a slightly larger budget and hire someone better to handle the fight scenes.

Y la verdad es que en este arco, el cual pienso yo que es uno de los más importantes de toda la serie, han estado un poco flojos en cuanto a la animación bajo mi perspectiva, no voy a hablar de los Beats de la historia porque siento que sí han hecho bien recreando varios de los paneles que tiene el manga pero en cuanto a la animación creo que han recortado bastante o no se les ha dado demasiado tiempo para hacerla
Estoy hablando de dibujados pobres, así como también de animaciones que en la mayoría de los casos están difuminadas, la calidad del estudio parece ser señalada más que nada por la excelente temporada 1 que tuvo este anime y que ahora parece estar falto de ritmo y fluidez en las peleas, viendo un seinen tienes que tener fluidez en las peleas porque si no vas a ser señalado por la mayoría de los que te leen
El cambio del estudio fue una cosa, habían nuevos diseños de personajes y en cierta forma degradaron un poco la calidad de la segunda temporada, pero también había una estructura de trabajo diferente quizá con menos recursos o menos especialistas en animación que en el primer caso
De hecho creo que es mucho más importante tener un buen director al mando de tu estudio que tener a cientos de animadores que sean prodigiosos en su trabajo, creo que la primera temporada fue una mezcla de estos dos casos y la segunda temporada si bien tuvo algunas animaciones buenas siento que el estudio no dio la talla o no mantuvo la calidad, y ya en esta tercera temporada creo que han necesitado mucho más tiempo y un mejor director para llevar las peleas cómo se deben
Viendo los últimos capítulos y veo que han hecho un buen homenaje a los paneles del manga pero cuando estamos hablando de anime y animación pienso que debe haber un poco más sobre la mesa, no solo tener los paneles dibujados y coloreados con un poco de animación sino también el trabajo del director tiene que ser llevar más allá ese panel para que nosotros los espectadores podamos ser asombrados, eso es algo que pasó en la primera temporada y que no está pasando en esta tercera

incluso en los capítulos en donde las peleas son predominantes, siento que esto es en parte mucho más culpa de la desarrolladora detrás por no dar el presupuesto suficiente y el tiempo para que todos estos animadores puedan cocinar bien las peleas, pero siento que lo han sacado de esta manera incompleta sabiendo que este anime es adorado por todos Y seguramente lo iban a ver muchas más personas aún así esté completo o no
Hay muchos atajos en los movimientos de los personajes, simplificados o reutilizados y se disminuyen generar la calidad visual final, no solo eso sino que hemos visto animadores que se han quejado de que los takes o dibujos que ellos hicieron no los incluyeron en el resultado final, a lo que me parece inaudito teniendo en cuenta que muchos de estos animadores son estrellas en esta industria, no solo es animación sino que también están estructuradas las escenas o los cortes que transmiten el impacto que desean
Es bastante triste ver este anime en estas condiciones pero es lo que toca, lo espero que para la cuarta temporada que es donde vemos una de las peleas más épicas de todo el seinen Y de todos los mangas puedan tener un poco más de presupuesto puedan contratar a alguien mejor para llevar las peleas
