Once when everyone was talking about anime, I commented that I had never seen anime before, and they asked me: really? what comics did you watch when you were a child? and I quickly answered, among others: Candy Candy, Speed Racer, Astro Boy, Heidy... everyone laughed, and told me, those are anime, so you have some otaku in you.
En una oportunidad en la que todos hablaban de anime, yo comenté que nunca había visto anime antes, y me preguntaron: ¿en serio? ¿qué "comiquitas" viste cuando eras una niña?, y rápidamente respondí, entre otras: Candy Candy, Meteoro, Astro Boy, Heidy... todos rieron, y me dijeron, esos son anime, entonces algo de otaku vive en ti.
After that, I understood that all those comics could not be cataloged equally, because the ones that were animations of Japanese origin, were precisely the so-called anime, which I thought I did not know. But in case any doubt should arise, now my children are there to clarify it for me, since they both feel a great passion for this genre of traditional Japanese culture, and they have taught me to appreciate and enjoy their stories.
Luego de eso, comprendí que todas aquellos comics no podían ser catalogados por igual, pues los que fuesen animaciones de origen japonés, eran precisamente los tan nombrados anime, que yo creía no conocer. Pero por si llegáse a surgir alguna duda al respecto, ahora están mis hijos para aclararmelo, pues ambos sienten gran pasión por este género de la cultura tradicional japonesa, y me han enseñado a apreciar y disfrutar sus historians.

Si algo caracteriza a los anime es el drama que envuelve su historia, y la de Astro Boy no podía ser distinta, pues su origen es el resultado del dolor que produjo la tragedia por la pérdida de un hijo.
Negado en aceptar lo ocurrido, un promimente y reconocido científico, decide construir un robot para recrear la figura de su hijo fallecido, y en su intento de humanizarlo, le transfirió sus memorias. Sin embargo, de un momento a otro, por razones que hasta la fecha no logro entender, ya no lo quiso más. Quizá el vacío que había en su corazón no lo podía llenar quien finalmente era un robot y no su hijo, así que se deshizo de él. Pero como las aguas siempre vuelven a su cauce, Astro Boy fue a dar con otro renombrado científico que descrubrió en él un gran potencial, y habilidades convertidas en superpoderes, que podían ser usadas en beneficio de la justicia.
The incredible and wonderful thing about Astro Boy is that he not only managed to develop defense and attack skills, which by the way he had enviable high-tech equipment to do so, but he managed to experience human emotions, being his big heart his most valuable asset, and the reason why he became the hero of a whole generation, whom I still admire today.
Lo increíble y maravilloso de Astro Boy es que no solo logró desarrollar habilidades de defensa y ataque, que por cierto tenía un envidibale equipamiento de alta tecnología para ello, sino que logró experimentar las emociones humanas, siendo su gran corazón su activo más valioso, y la razón por la cual se convirtió en el héroe de toda una generación, al que hoy por hoy yo sigo admirando.

I left the best for last, my favorite anime of all time, the one that made me love the speed and adrenaline of car racing, perhaps it is also responsible for the fact that in my life I have had so much influence and inclination for the automotive sector...Speed Racer.
Dejé lo mejor para el final, mi anime favorito de todos los tiempos, el que me hizo amar la velocidad y la adrenalina de las carreras automovilísticas, quizá es también el responsable de que en mi vida haya tenido tanta influencia e inclinación por el sector automotriz...Meteoro.
Meteoro, is a young driver who drives a super car designed and built by his father, with the aim of leading car competitions. Although this series also has its moments of suspense and some drama, basically due to intrigues with opponents or family conflicts such as the one with his brother, the series focuses on the adventure of overcoming obstacles and reaching the finish line.
Meteoro, es un joven piloto que conduce un super auto diseñado y construído por su padre, con el objetivo de liderar las competencias de autos. Aunque esta serie tiene también sus momentos de suspenso y algo de drama, básicamente por temas de intrigas con los adversarios o conflictos familiares como el vivido con su hermano; la serie se centra en la aventura de superar obstáculos y llegar a la meta.

La intro de la serie lo deja claro: velocidad, suspenso y peligro...para todo ello lo acompaña el Mach 5, el sueño de todo conductor amante de la velocidad y la aventura, un vehículo aerodinámico de alta potencia que era capaz de elevarse para dar grandes saltos, que poseía un par de sierras para destruir obstáculos, neumáticos adaptables a todo tipo de terreno, protección antiimpactos, visión infrarroja...ah, y también podía convertirse en un submarino. Quizás se me olviden otras de sus bondades, pero era un vehículo que lo tenía todo para ser el rey de las pistas de carrera.
