Probably most of you have guessed by now, but the manga artist behind Yu-Gi-Oh, Kazuki Takahashi, has passed away on 6th July this year. Seeing that Yu-Gi-Oh has reached so many people with its popularity, this news is so sudden. His love for games on whatever type is the inspiration behind the manga premise. And even though Duel Monsters takes precedence, his unique take on various games is what makes the manga unique compared to its contemporaries which is more battle oriented. Regardless, the manga, anime, games and the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG is one of many that makes this series a popular one. Even though I always drew Blue Eyes White Dragon, I've currently rarely draw anything about it. I guess this art is a sendoff to series creator. I just stubled on this old sketch of mine and just finished it today. Then I remember that before I tried to draw human characters, I drew more monster designs, and Yu-Gi-Oh monster design was really unique and is probably one of my main influence while doing monster designs at the time.
I guess that took too long. Better not drag this, as my mood is under the weather these days. Anyways, since this is posted on Eid Adha, wish all who are celebrating to have a great holiday time. I'll try to make use of this time for self care. Good luck and have a nice day.
