Story&Summary
Our protagonist is a very ordinary girl in college and that is what Yori Kurosawa is when the story starts. She does not really study very well and she has a lack of confidence too. She lives a boring, dull frustrated life. One day, Yori simply goes to visit some old temple where he says as per the folklore that a god who is a gorilla has been sleeping there over the centuries. Being curious, she finds herself into the temple, which unknowingly, she ruins an ancient seal. Owing to this breaking of this seal, there comes wake of the giant gorilla god -Gorugama.
At one point Gusto is very angry after waking up. Since he was in a prison due to human greed and irresponsibility. However, when he observes the cowering expression of Iori, he realizes that the girl lacks ill motives. Instead, Iori falls to tears. This naivete melts the heart of Gorugama. This is when he declares that this girl will become his go-to girl i.e. his beloved follower, she will aid him in establishing a new relationship between this world and human beings.
Iori at first believed that he was having a nightmare. but step by step he learns that Gorugama is indeed possessed with god-like powers. Gorugama is not only a giant gorilla, but also, a gorilla who is able to read minds of other people. Gorugama is aware of lack of self-confidence, loneliness, and inner bitterness of Iori. In this way, a weird kind of association takes place between the two. Gorugama teaches Iori the skills of being confident in his abilities gradually. Not everything is that easy in society. At that moment, the emergence of a huge gorilla deity causes panic among human beings. Special forces of the government arrive in order to capture Gorugama. But Iori is not with Wazbu, he is by Gorugama, at risk with his life. In this segment, action and emotion are mingled in the work.
The greatest thing that one can learn in the anime is that power is not beyond them, but within them. When he witnesses the brave and caring nature of Iori, Gorugama gets to know how to forgive even old enemies. Iori on the contrary in the process learns that despite him appearing small to all people, so long as he thinks big then even an individual can be as powerful as the gorilla god. Contents: At the story ending, Gorugama desires to go back to the temple once again, since he understands that people need to be permitted to move freely. When it comes to the scene of departure Iori is not without tears in his eyes, yet his heart is dead set, he is certain that this experience has made him a different person.
My Explanation
The Go-To Girl of the Gorilla God is an unusual but interesting anime fantasy-comedy. The elements of humour, emotion and self-improvement are humorously merged in this story. At first sight, one might be tempted to believe that it is one of these stories, which are meant to be laughed at when in reality there is a profound message lying underneath the surface. The best part of this anime is its characters and their relations to one another. In as much as Gorugama appears to be a giant gorilla, he is more human than a human being deep inside. He knows Yori and his inner weaknesses. and by such insight Yori comes to build a confidence. The comic scenes of the anime are quite nice. A lot of humorous moments are created by the clash of the huge size of Gorugama and the small problems that are caused by Yori in everyday life. As a case in point, funny things occur when Gorugama attempts to interpret a number of things in the contemporary world.
The quality of animation is good. Even the design of Gorugama is very appealing. The expression on his face, his gesture and shading of his massive body are very well presented. The temple scenes particularly the night scenes are attractive. The anime however also has its weak sides. The novel is a little slow in getting started. They have devoted several episode in trying to explain the back story of Iori which can be dull to other viewers. Secondary characters were another element that may have been a bit more significant. The play extends in the middle of the play when the special forces of the government arrive to arrest Gorugama. They absolutely have great action scenes in this part. Iori will also act as a guide to the viewers in terms of his bravery and importance of friendship. The final episodes are rather emotional. When Gorugama is in decision to come back, the tears of Iori and dramatic farewell move everyone. The Go-To Girl of the Gorilla God, is not only a humorous story, but the story about being self a hundred percent sure, the power of friendship. A lovely combination of tears, laughter and inspiration. This is quite a remarkable fantasy-comedy anime, especially to those who desire to view a different genre.
