"Akuyaku Reijō Level 99: Watashi wa Ura-Boss desu ga Maō de wa Arimasen" Or also known as "Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I'm Not the Demon Lord" was an anime that grabbed me from its first episode.
The plot revolves around Yumiella Dolkenss (the hidden boss). The actual antagonist of the plot.
Everything begins in a different way, a gamer inserted in a role-playing game "otome" entitled "Light Magic and the Hero", suffers an accident, arriving at the same game, however, do not give greater relevance to how this event occurs.
This fact, clearly surprises her, but, she must follow the order of this, however, she is creating new events in the plot, to escape her destiny.
Yumiella's character in the game is the antagonist and villain, which is why she must make changes and ensure her own safety.
But being an experienced gamer, this incites her to want to be the best and gradually increase her level of power.
By the time she reaches her teenage years, Yumiella has already reached level 99, the highest level in the game, surpassing the most experienced warriors. This only causes the "characters" to feel great distrust towards her.
On the other hand, the particularity of her long black hair refers to the fact that she is the reincarnation of the main villain, which makes it even more difficult for her to go unnoticed.
On the other hand, she still has her real-life gamer memories, so she knows everything about the game, which leads her to go one step further in the plot.
Thus, Yumiella follows in her character's footsteps, in a new way and with a different approach.
Throughout the game, the antagonist, now the protagonist, fights to keep her secret hidden, so that the protagonists of the game will not kill her, and her role as the hidden boss and villain will not appear, thus avoiding her own defeat.
Within the anime we can find the following characters:
Yumiella Dolkenss, the hidden boss and villain, powerful and skilled in various disciplines, and possessor of the four elements, she also handles dark magic, her appearance is somber and above all reserved and silent.
Patrick Ashbatten, son of a frontier lord, very skilled with the sword, besides being one of the few students who do not fear Yumiella. Almost in his last episodes it is seen that Yumiella is his love interest.
Ryu, Yumiella's pet dragon, this one was raised from being an egg by her, his hatching was quite fast, this black dragon is feared by everyone and loved by her.
Alicia Ehnleit, she is the heroine and protagonist of the game, her power is white magic and she is in charge of defeating the villain at the end of the game.
Eleonora Hillrose, daughter of Duke Hilrose and fervently in love with Prince Edwin, at the beginning she is used as a weapon to frighten Alicia, however, her friendship with Yumiella turns this around.
Edwin Valschein, is the second prince of the kingdom and Alicia's first love interest, in the beginning he distrusted Yumiella, as he felt she was hiding something, throughout the episodes there are disputes between the two.
Oswald Grimsarde, Prince Edwin's friend and Alicia's second love interest, or rather on his side towards her. He is a young prodigy who handles the four elements, however his ego is affected when he loses against Yumiella, this causes Oswald to feel great distrust and anger towards her.
William Ares, master swordsman and friend of Prince Edwin and Oswald, Alicia's third love interest. William is Yumiella's most bitter enemy, since by winning the fight, he embarrasses him in front of the school.
These are the main characters of the plot, it has moments of great emotion and visually it is very well created.
The plot is interesting, which makes you want to watch it. However, I feel it is not that well known, even though it is very good.
If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.
The only downside is that it has only one season to date, and with the final villain being defeated and not having another one, it feels like an approved conclusion.
On the other hand, the series has not been renewed for a second installment, but this does not mean that the story is over.
