El anime es un mundo amplio de géneros, estilos visuales y a medida de que avanza el tiempo, aparecen más y más animes que nos encantan, y otros tantos que pasan sin pensar ni gloria. Sin embargo, hoy no vengo a hablar de aquello, sino de un punto clave que tiene cada anime que hemos visto hasta la fecha; y antes de que analices y sobre analices lo que es, te lo diré a continuación.
Cada anime, independientemente de su género, estilo y temática, posee una historia, pero ojo 👀, este no es el punto de igualdad del que hablaba. Lo que realmente es el factor común, es que en cada anime visto, sea por tv o leído en manga, son los “villanos”, aquellos personajes creados por el mangaka para sembrar penurias y vicisitudes a sus protagonistas.
Y acá es donde me voy a detener, porque en cada anime, por lo general, se le da una “absurda redención” al villano, haciendo ver, que el amor y la esperanza, pueden solucionar todo (como si es el fuera cierto 😏).
No obstante, en diversos animes, hemos visto villanos que tienen su marcado toque de “humor negro y sarcástico” qué hasta te hace decir —vaya, ese villano me agrada— superando en aprecio por parte de la audiencia al protagonista, ¿y que ocurre? Al final de cuentas matan al enemigo por el “bien de la trama”.
Pero vamos desglosando villanos de diversos animes y veamos juntos, si estos tuvieron o no son redención “justificada” o fueron “nerfeados” por el bien del protagonista, además de comprender, si el villano tenía una real razón para su venganza.
Mis villanos favoritos
En mis top de villanos favoritos, puedo decir que hasta la fecha sigo amando a Pain y su emblemática frase —"Siente el dolor, piensa en el dolor, acepta el dolor, conoce el dolor. Aquellos que no conocen el dolor, jamás podrán entender la verdadera paz".—
"¡Ahora, el mundo conocerá el dolor! ¡Shinra Tensei!".
Sin duda alguna, Pain, para mi, es el mejor villano a la fecha, aunque es bien sabido, terminó siendo una marioneta de Nagato, su mejor amigo, quien no pudiera dejar su vínculo de amistad con Yahiko después de muerto. Este dúo en potencia, porque acá venía mente y cuerpo de distintos personajes unidos en un propósito.
Ambos conocían perfectamente el dolor, lo que significaba la soledad lo que acabó transformando su bondad y sensibilidad en un desapego frío y solitario.
La mejor temporada sin duda alguna fue esta, las mejores batallas vinieron de la mano de Pain y acá siento, que si redención no fue el humo del mangaka, ni menos un nerfeo barato, sino que más bien, fue un cierre de ciclo al dolor de Nagato, reflejando que su principal deseo de paz y redención era posible.
Dentro del mismo anime de Naruto, otro villano en potencia fue Orochimaru, sus capacidades de planeación y manipulación eran magistrales, además de tener un sentido del humor bastante sarcástico. Un villano que no fue contra el mismo protagonista “Naruto” fue por su contraparte Sasuke sabiendo de antemano que la mente de Sasuke, era mucho más vulnerable y manipulable qué Naruto.
Por este motivo, y analizando sus capacidades, donde el mismo hubiese podido crear otra guerra sin ningún problema por saber realizar el Edo tensei, hubiese sido capaz de crear un ejército de grandes leyendas a su servicio, sin embargo, en Boruto, lo vemos como una niñera junto a Kabuto de un ejército de clones de Shin, manteniéndolos como si estos estuviesen en una escuela.
En cuanto a Orochimaru siento que su redención si fue un chimenea de humo, ya que de pasar se infundir terror en Konoha pasó a ser una especie de “madre de familia”, donde además su estética visual fue drásticamente suavizada.
En el mundo de Sailor Moon, podemos hallar sin duda alguna muchísimos villanos, ya que en cada arco venía un villano diferente.
En su primer acto, podemos hallar a la Reina Beryl, una mortal resentida contra la princesa de luna por obtener el amor del príncipe de la tierra Endymion, no obstante, sus celos la llevaron a crear una fatídica guerra, donde logró acabar tanto con su rival como amado.
En la reencarnación de las sailor, el mismo mal reencarna, y acá vemos que esta villana, no tuvo su rendición, es más, pareciera que con el paso de los años o siglos, su sed de venganza aumentó considerablemente.
Por otro lado, la villana Neherenia en la temporada de los 90s tuvo su redención en su segunda parte, es decir, en el arco de “Pegaso” donde al final se la ve a través de un espejo rodeada de gente, ya que su trauma fue el haber crecido sola, cosa que atribuía a la reina de la luna.
Sin embargo, en el arco crystal, esta redención no ocurre y es derrotada definitivamente, algo que sinceramente fue mucho más lógico y cuerdo.
Siguiendo en Sailor Moon, la villana más absurda fue la versión adulta de Chibiusa (Rini), ya que su propósito generó sobre todo en la década de los 90s un disgusto hacia el personaje por su inclinación hacia su mismo padre.
No obstante, en la versión crystal, esta parte se suaviza bastante mostrando una evolución de villana sin el toque de “amor hacia su padre”.
Sin embargo, en ambas entregas, la villana Black lady se siente innecesaria, sin redención clara y sumamente forzada.
Y ya casi llegando al final de Sailor Moon, llegamos quizás a una de las villanas más recordadas, Sailor Galaxia, quien realmente uniera los hilos de cada villano anterior a ella, usandolos como peones para cometer su futuro propósitos, una villana despiadada, con un propósito claro, sin distracciones amorosas, porque para ella, el poder lo era todo.
Aunque, en la versión de los 90s si tuvo su redención, la cual se sintió fluida y comprensible y para la mayoría de amantes de de Sailor Moon, fue el mejor arco, en Sailor Moon Crystal, está redención fue a medias, dejando a la audiencia con un desarrollo mayor en todos los sentidos, ya que al final, antes de su muerte se dio cuenta de también fue un peón de un ser mayor, pero le falto esa parte de batalla contra el caldero para que así cerrará mejor su ciclo.
"Al final de cuentas, cada anime tendrá su villano o villana; algunos serán amados y otros odiados. Y si los odias, es que realmente el villano es malvado, reflejando un buen trabajo del mangaka. Esto nos demuestra que, así como en la ficción, en la realidad también hay villanos, y en ocasiones, muchos de estos 'personajes' se hacen llamar nuestros amigos."
En un mundo, donde el amor y la esperanza parecen ser sueños o espejismos, lo más certero y verdadero, es que vivimos y conocemos el dolor, así que no temas decir no puedo, no quiero, no me gusta porque ante la mirada de otro siempre seremos el villano de su propia historia.

What really is the common factor is that in every anime we watch, whether on TV or read in manga, there are the "villains", those characters created by the mangaka to cause hardship and misfortune to their protagonists.
And this is where I'm going to stop, because in every anime, the villain is usually given an "absurd redemption", making it seem that love and hope can solve everything (as if that were true 😏).
However, in various anime, we have seen villains who have a marked touch of "dark and sarcastic humour" that even makes you say —wow, I like that villain— surpassing the audience's appreciation for the protagonist, and what happens? In the end, they kill the enemy for the "good of the plot".
But let's break down villains from various anime and see together whether or not they had "justified" redemption or were "nerfed" for the sake of the protagonist, as well as understand whether the villain had a real reason for their revenge.
My favourite villains
Among my favourite villains, I can say that to this day I still love Pain and his iconic phrase —"Feel the pain, think about the pain, accept the pain, know the pain. Those who do not know pain will never understand true peace."—
"Now, the world will know pain! Shinra Tensei!"
Without a doubt, Pain is, for me, the best villain to date, although it is well known that he ended up being a puppet of Nagato, his best friend, who could not let go of his bond of friendship with Yahiko after his death. This duo had great potential, because here we saw the minds and bodies of different characters united in a common purpose.
Both knew pain perfectly well, knew what loneliness meant, which ended up transforming their kindness and sensitivity into a cold and solitary detachment.
This was undoubtedly the best season, with the best battles coming from Pain. Here, I feel that redemption was not just smoke and mirrors from the mangaka, nor a cheap nerf, but rather the end of Nagato's cycle of pain, reflecting that his main desire for peace and redemption was possible.
Within the Naruto anime itself, another potential villain was Orochimaru, whose planning and manipulation skills were masterful, in addition to having a rather sarcastic sense of humour. He did not go after the main character, Naruto, but rather his counterpart, Sasuke, knowing in advance that Sasuke's mind was much more vulnerable and manipulable than Naruto's.
For this reason, and analysing his abilities, where he could have easily created another war by knowing how to perform the Edo tensei, he would have been able to create an army of great legends at his service. However, in Boruto, we see him as a babysitter alongside Kabuto of an army of Shin clones, keeping them as if they were in school.
As for Orochimaru, I feel that his redemption was a smokescreen, as he went from instilling terror in Konoha to become a kind of "family man", where his visual appearance was also drastically softened.
In the world of Sailor Moon, we can undoubtedly find many villains, as each arc featured a different villain.
In the first act, we meet Queen Beryl, a mortal who resents the Moon Princess for winning the love of the Earth Prince Endymion. However, her jealousy led her to start a fateful war, in which she managed to destroy both her rival and her beloved.
In the reincarnation of the Sailors, the same evil is reborn, and here we see that this villain did not surrender. In fact, it seems that over the years or centuries, her thirst for revenge has increased considerably.
On the other hand, the villain Neherenia in the 90s season had her redemption in the second part, that is, in the "Pegasus" arc, where at the end she is seen through a mirror surrounded by people, since her trauma was having grown up alone, something she attributed to the Queen of the Moon.

She was a ruthless villain with a clear purpose and no romantic distractions, because for her, power was everything.
Although, in the 90s version, she did have her redemption, which felt fluid and understandable and for most Sailor Moon lovers, it was the best arc. In Sailor Moon Crystal, this redemption was half-hearted, leaving the audience with greater development in every way, since in the end, before her death, she realised that she was also a pawn of a greater being, but he lacked that part of the battle against the cauldron to better close his cycle.
"At the end of the day, every anime will have its villain; some will be loved and others hated. And if you hate them, it means that the villain is truly evil, reflecting the mangaka's good work. This shows us that, just as in fiction, there are also villains in reality, and sometimes, many of these 'characters' call themselves our friends."
