Es más que sabido que la industria del cine en los Estados Unidos es la más grande del mundo y por tal en algunas ocasiones tienen que recurrir a diferentes fuentes o referencias para poder sacar ideas y así empezar la producción cinematográfica requerida por el mercado. El anime no se salva de esa búsqueda y es que a lo largo de los años hemos visto películas sacadas o referenciadas directamente de este mundo y que muy probablemente no lo sabíamos.
It is well known that the film industry in the United States is the largest in the world and therefore sometimes they have to resort to different sources or references to get ideas and thus start the film production required by the market. Anime is not spared from this search and over the years we have seen films taken or referenced directly from this world and we probably didn't know it.
Es un tema que me llamó mucho la atención porque hasta yo mismo desconocía algunas de estas informaciones así que por tal motivo me decidí a realizar este pequeño resumen. Veamos entonces cuales son estos títulos del cine que fueron influenciados directamente por varias series propias del anime.
It is a topic that caught my attention because even I did not know some of this information, so for that reason I decided to make this small summary. Let's see then which are these movie titles that were directly influenced by several anime series.

Es muy probable que todos conozcan la película de Van Helsing estrenada por allá en el 2004 protagonizada por Hugh Jackman y Kate Beckinsale, en donde vemos al actor interpretar a un cazador de vampiros bastante ágil y particular. Pues la realidad de todo es que es historia proviene de Vampire Hunter D, una película originaria de Japón que vio la luz en el año 1985. En ese mundo, D quien es mitad vampiro, es caracterizado por llevar una larga capa, un sombrero ancho y el caballo largo; además de que se desarrolla en un mundo donde la ficción y algo de magia predominan la escena. Así que amigos, Van Helsing no salió de la nada, ya saben un poco su origen.
It is very likely that everyone knows the Van Helsing movie released back in 2004 starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale, where we see the actor playing a rather agile and particular vampire hunter. Well, the reality of it all is that this story comes from Vampire Hunter D, a movie originally from Japan that was released in 1985. In that world, D, who is half vampire, is characterized by wearing a long cape, a wide hat and a long horse; besides, it takes place in a world where fiction and some magic dominate the scene. So folks, Van Helsing didn't come out of nowhere, you know a bit about his origin.

Estamos con el segundo ejemplo de la lista y esta oportunidad tenemos a la película del 2006 "Paprika". Lo interesante es que Christopher Nolan, director de Inception, nunca negó de donde salió la idea original de su filme y acepta que tomo ciertas sugerencias del anime en cuestión. Todos sabemos que en la taquillera de Hollywood, protagonizada por Leonardo Di Caprio, un grupo de agentes entran en los sueños de la gente con la finalidad de destruirlos. Si bien es verdad que las historias son bastante diferentes, en Paprika también observamos como es posible entrar en la mente a través de la tecnología al punto de afectar toda la realidad.
We are with the second example on the list and this time we have the 2006 film "Paprika". Acá sucede algo muy curioso y es que según Disney el Rey León es la primera película que no está basada en nada que hay sido hecho antes pero no sabemos si eso es tan cierto. Por que? - pues porque las similitudes con el anime al que hago referencia son muy notorias, anime que estuvo de moda en los años sesenta; más adelante Disney aclaró que ninguna persona tenía idea de la existencia de tal serie.
Here something very curious happens and that is that according to Disney the Lion King is the first movie that is not based on anything that has been done before but we don't know if that is so true. Why? - Because the similarities with the anime I am referring to are very noticeable, anime that was fashionable in the sixties; later Disney clarified that no one had any idea of the existence of such a series.
Después se supo que uno de los trabajadores en el Rey León estuvo en Japón años anteriores y capaz de ahí fue donde agarró la influencia. Al igual que con Van Helsing la historia es muy diferente pero por ejemplo el león sobre la roca y Mufasa apareciendo en la nubes son referencias muy poderosas. Al final nunca se sabrá que tan real es todo esto o son simple casualidades.
Later it was found out that one of the workers in the Lion King was in Japan years before and maybe that's where he got the influence. As with Van Helsing the story is very different but for example the lion on the rock and Mufasa appearing in the clouds are very powerful references. In the end it will never be known how real it all is or if they are just coincidences.
- Perfect Blue - Black Swan.

Aquí todo es diferente porque a simple vista no hay rasgos muy evidentes lo que hace un poco más complicada el encontrar los parecidos. En el anime tenemos a una cantante que sueña con llegar lejos y en la película está una bailarina con los mismos deseos pero es que si observan el físico de ambas protagonistas se darán cuenta de las similitudes además de que a nivel de personalidad son dos gotas de agua también.
Here everything is different because at first glance there are not very obvious features which makes it a little more complicated to find the similarities. In the anime we have a singer who dreams of going far and in the movie there is a dancer with the same desires but if you look at the physique of both protagonists you will realize the similarities in addition to the fact that at the personality level they are two peas in a pod as well.
Lo que causa intriga es que el director Aronofsky siempre ha negado rotundamente esta teoría pero a principios de los 2000 él mismo logró obtener los permisos para hacer una reedición de dicho anime y aún así continua declinando la idea de una copia.
What is intriguing is that director Aronofsky has always strongly denied this theory but in the early 2000s he himself managed to obtain permissions to make a remake of the anime and yet he continues to decline the idea of a copy.

Muchas casualidades con los contextos en estas películas. Algunas de las cosas que son sello de la historia japonesa es la destrucción del medio ambiente, la existencia de una gran heroína y la aparición de un elemento que aparentemente es oscuro y malicioso. TODAS las anteriores son cosas que podemos ver en la película de Cameron, Avatar.
A lot of coincidences with the contexts in these films. Some of the things that are hallmarks of the Japanese story is the destruction of the environment, the existence of a great heroine, and the appearance of an element that is apparently dark and malicious. ALL of the above are things that we can see in Cameron's movie, Avatar.
Hasta el hecho de que en ambas hay un forastero que se mezcla en esta comunidad salvaje y que también es un "elegido" el cual lucha mano a mano con esta guerrera contra amenazas externas.
Even the fact that in both there is an outsider who blends into this savage community and who is also a "chosen one" who fights hand in hand with this warrior against external threats.
Estas son algunas de las películas más conocidas con sus respectivos anime que dieron vida a excelente historias y se convirtieron en éxitos taquilleros en cada una de sus épocas. La verdad es que nunca se sabrá si hay alguna copia en cada una de estos títulos pero lo que es evidente no necesita más explicaciones, no?...
These are some of the best known movies with their respective anime that gave life to excellent stories and became box-office hits in each of their eras. The truth is that we will never know if there is a copy in each of these titles but what is evident does not need any further explanation, no?
