Hey everyone, hope you're all doing great, dear community of The Anime Realm. On this occasion, I want to share a new review with you. I'm going to talk a bit about an anime I finished a while ago: The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, or as some call it, Oredake Kakushi Dungeon. It's one of those series with a core idea that makes you go, "Wow, that's awesome!" but then... well, let's just say it kind of stumbles along the way. I mean, I went into it with high hopes, looking for a good fantasy, and yeah, it gave me some of that, but... not in the way I imagined. Let's talk about the protagonist, Noir Stardia. The guy comes from a noble family that's broke—they're nobles in name only because they live in poverty—but suddenly, he finds a secret dungeon, and that's where things get good.

He gets a super unique ability that literally lets him edit and create skills. Can you imagine how crazy that is? It's not just about getting stronger; the dude can change the very essence of abilities, for himself or anyone else. But here comes the catch, the... spicy part: to use this power, he needs 'life points' or LP. And how does he get them? By satisfying 'human desires'... and by that, we mean eating good food, getting money, and, yep, you guessed it... interacting with girls. This mechanic is the heart of the series because, of course, this point system is tightly linked to his harem, which is the anime's main hook. You have his childhood friend, Emma, who's crazy about him, then Lola, the guild receptionist, and Luna, an elf who cures curses... they all help him rack up points, of course. But then... there's Alice, Noir's sister. That left me with a "what? WTF?" face, but the series doesn't seem to care and just moves on as if nothing happened.

Hola a todos, espero que estén super bien, querida comunidad de The Anime Realm, en esta ocasión, les quiero compartir una nueva reseña, les quiero hablar un poco de un anime que termine hace un tiempo, se trata de: The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, o como le dicen por ahí, Oredake Kakushi Dungeon, es de esas series que tienen una idea central que dices ‘¡wow, qué brutal!’, pero que luego… bueno, digamos que en el camino como que se tropieza un poco.. o sea, yo le entré con toda la buena onda, buscando una buena fantasía, y sí, algo de eso me dio, pero… no de la forma que yo me imaginaba. Hablemos del prota, Noir Stardia.. el tipo viene de una familia noble que está en la quiebra, o sea, son nobles de nombre nomás porque viven en la miseria, pero de repente, se encuentra una mazmorra secreta y ahí es que la cosa se pone buena.

Consigue una habilidad súper única que le permite, literal, editar y crear skills. ¿Se imaginan qué locura? No es que se vuelva más fuerte y ya; el man puede cambiar la esencia de las habilidades, para él o para quien sea.. pero aquí viene el truco, la parte… picantona: para usar ese poder, necesita ‘puntos de vida’ o LP. ¿Y cómo los consigue? Pues satisfaciendo ‘deseos humanos’… y con eso nos referimos a comer rico, conseguir plata y, sí, ya se lo imaginan… interactuando con chicas, esta mecánica es el corazón de la serie porque claro, este sistema de puntos está amarradísimo a su harem, que es como el gran gancho del anime. Ahí tienes a su amiga de la infancia, Emma, que está loquita por él, luego a Lola, la recepcionista del gremio, y a Luna, una elfa que cura maldiciones.. todas le ayudan a sumar puntos, claro que sí. Pero luego… está Alice, la hermana de Noir. A mí me dejó con cara de ‘¿qué? WTF?’, pero a la serie como que le da igual y sigue adelante como si nada.

We've all seen those animes where the protagonists are totally in love, they're soulmates, but they won't even hold hands without short-circuiting or getting hit by a censorship beam! Well, this series throws all of that out the window. Here, Noir and his girls kiss—not little pecks, no! We're talking real kisses, sometimes even in the middle of a party. BUT, and pay attention here, despite all this closeness and kissing, the series doesn't go overboard with explicit fan service. It plays more on suggestion than on showing. So, if you're coming in expecting to see panties every other minute or super risqué scenes, you might want to lower your expectations because you'll be disappointed.

It's suggestive, yes, but it holds back more than you'd think. I can count on one hand the times it gets truly "daring" visually. What was a real highlight, though, was Noir's creativity in using his ability, especially in the first half of the series. For me, that's where the anime truly shines. The guy doesn't just use his powers to be invincible; he thinks, he finds workarounds to get his way. For example, there's a part where he has to remove a deadly curse, and instead of just erasing it (which would cost too many points and literally kill him), he edits it so the penalty is losing money instead of his life.

Todos hemos visto esos animes donde los protas se re quieren, son almas gemelas, ¡pero ni de chiste se toman la mano sin que les dé un cortocircuito o les pongan una luz de censura! Bueno, esta serie manda todo eso a volar.. aquí Noir y sus chicas se besan, no besitos de piquito, ¡no!, hablamos de besos de verdad, a veces hasta en medio de un fiestón.. PERO, y aquí pongan atención, a pesar de toda esta cercanía y los besos, la serie no se pasa de lanza con el fan service explícito.. juega mucho más a sugerir que a mostrar, o sea, si vienen esperando ver calzones a cada rato o escenas súper subidas de tono, le van a bajar dos rayitas a su emoción porque se van a decepcionar.

Es sugerente, sí, pero se guarda más de lo que uno creería.. te puedo contar con una mano las veces que de verdad se pone "atrevido" visualmente, lo que sí, la creatividad de Noir usando su habilidad, sobre todo en la primera mitad de la serie, fue un puntazo. Para mí, ahí es donde el anime de verdad la rompe.. el tipo no usa sus poderes solo para ser invencible y ya; le piensa, le busca la vuelta a las cosas para salirse con la suya, por ejemplo, hay una parte donde tiene que quitarse una maldición mortal, y en lugar de borrarla de un golpe (que le costaría demasiados puntos y lo mataría, literal), va y la edita para que la penalización sea perder dinero en lugar de la vida.

But then, and this is where it all fell apart for me, all that creativity took a nosedive in the second half. I felt like they went all-in on the harem aspect, and look, I don't mind a good harem, but everything else—the interesting story and the clever use of Noir's powers—got benched. What a letdown, seriously, because the potential was right there, served on a silver platter. The plot, instead of telling a coherent story, started to feel more like an excuse to fulfill fan service fantasies than to offer a good narrative. It just started to feel... poorly written, you know?

And speaking of the writing, let's talk about Noir. His character is... generic. He's the most bland and uninteresting protagonist you can imagine. He has no standout personality or real motivation beyond wanting to get stronger and help his friends. This feeling that the protagonist is just another template makes you feel that the writing for almost all the characters is weak. They feel like they're just there to serve a purpose, not like real characters with souls.

Pero luego, y aquí es donde la cosa se me vino abajo, toda esa creatividad como que se fue en picada en la segunda mitad, sentí que se clavaron de lleno en el tema del harem, y ojo, a mí no me molesta un buen harem, pero es que todo lo demás, la historia interesante y el uso inteligente de los poderes de Noir, lo mandaron a la banca.. qué bajón, en serio, porque el potencial estaba ahí, en bandeja de plata, la trama, en lugar de contarnos algo con pies y cabeza, empezó a sentirse más como una excusa para cumplir fantasías de fan service que para ofrecer una historia buena. Simplemente se empezó a sentir… floja de guion, ¿me entienden?

Y hablando del guion, hablemos de Noir.. su personaje es… genérico, es el prota más plano y sin chiste que te puedas imaginar.. no tiene ninguna personalidad que destaque o una motivación real más allá de querer volverse más fuerte y ayudar a sus amigos.. esa sensación de que el prota es un molde más, hace que sientas que la escritura de casi todos los personajes está floja, se sienten como si estuvieran ahí solo para cumplir un propósito y ya, no como personajes de verdad, con alma.

But, buuuut, in the midst of this whole mess, there's a bright spot, a character that kept me hooked and made me laugh every time: Olivia Cervantes. Every time she's on screen, it's hilarious. She's constantly teasing Noir, pushing him to improve, and she injects a life and energy into the show that's just incredible. Without a doubt, for me, she was the best comedy and the most redeeming part of the entire series. Now, let's talk visuals. Although some say the art style is good, I have to agree with those who say the animation... ugh, the animation falls short. A lot of the time, the anime just "doesn't look good." The characters, especially the girls who are the main draw, sometimes look deformed or strange, and it really throws you off. Look, it's not the worst animation I've ever seen, but it really doesn't do the series any favors, especially when it relies so heavily on its characters being attractive.

So, what's my final verdict on The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter? It's complicated, folks. It had a super cool idea with Noir's ability and the point system, but the generic protagonist, the way creativity ran out halfway through, and the shoddy animation really brought it down. Olivia Cervantes was the crown jewel, a comedic genius, but even she couldn't carry the whole show on her own. If you're looking for a light harem with some curious mechanics, and you don't mind a weak plot or subpar animation, you might like it. Remember, it's more suggestive than explicit, so keep that in mind. For me, I give it a 4/10. It had the potential to be so much more, and that's what's most frustrating. Pero, peeeero, en medio de todo este desmadre, hay una luz, un personaje que me mantuvo enganchado y me hizo reír a cada rato: Olivia Cervantes. Cada vez que sale en pantalla, es para morirse de la risa, se la pasa molestando a Noir, lo empuja para que mejore, y le mete una vida y una energía al show que no tienen idea.. sin duda alguna, para mí fue la mejor comedia y lo más rescatable de toda la serie.. Ahora, hablemos de lo visual, aunque por ahí dicen que el estilo de dibujo está bueno, tengo que estar de acuerdo con los que dicen que la animación… uff, la animación se queda corta, muchas veces, el anime nomás ‘no se ve bien’.. los personajes, sobre todo las chicas que son el gancho principal, a veces se deforman, se ven raros, y eso te saca de onda, a ver, no es la peor animación que he visto en mi vida, pero la verdad no le hace ningún favor a la serie, y menos cuando depende tanto de que los personajes se vean atractivos.

Entonces, ¿cuál es mi veredicto final sobre The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter? Está complicado, gente.. tenía una idea súper chida con la habilidad de Noir y el sistema de puntos, pero el prota tan genérico, cómo se les acabó la creatividad a mitad de camino y la animación medio chafa, pues le bajaron muchos puntos, Olivia Cervantes fue la joya de la corona, una genia de la comedia, pero ni ella solita pudo cargar con todo el peso del show.. si andan buscando un harem ligerito, con algunas mecánicas curiosas, y no les importa que la trama sea fea o que la animación no sea la gran cosa, chance y les guste.. recuerden, es más de sugerir que de mostrar, para que lo tengan en cuenta, para mí, yo le doy un 4/10.. tenía potencial para ser mucho, mucho más, y eso es lo que más coraje da.. y bueno, hasta aquí la reseña de hoy, espero que les haya gustado, cuidense!
