Como ya es costumbre les daré una pequeña sinopsis sobre que es Ashita no Joe, es un anime de boxeo de 79 capítulos estrenado en 1970 por el estudio Mushi Production (Ya está algo viejo) y también tuvo una secuela de 47 capítulos en 1980 por el estudio TMS Entertainment, nos centraremos en la primera que salio, él anime se encuentra basado en el manga de Ikki Kajiwara.

Ya que les di una introducción sobre el anime llego el momento de que les justifique el porque deberían ver un anime de 50 años de antigüedad, lógicamente la animación no es la gran cosa pero eso es lo menos importante puesto que lo compensa con una excelente historia. El anime se centra en Joe Yabuki un chico que ha tenido una vida muy dura y que no posee un rumbo fijo, en un momento dado conoce Danpei Tange un boxeador retirado el cual le ve potencial para el deporte, Joe se niega rotundamente a participar debido a que no le interesa pero tiempo después demuestra que podrá dar un gran cambio a su vida y a la del buen Danpei.

A lo largo del anime Joe toma muchas malas decisiones y lo que hace la historia tan plausible es el hecho de que este paga por sus delitos siendo encarcelado. Algo que me parece fantástico de este anime es que no inicia directamente con el personaje ya queriendo practicar el deporte en cuestión, sino, que este primero se encuentra renuente a participar en él, de hecho la razón de que empiece a practicarlo es para enfrentarse a un rival.
Throughout the anime Joe makes many bad decisions and what makes the story so plausible is the fact that he pays for his crimes by being incarcerated. Something that seems fantastic to me about this anime is that it does not start directly with the character already wanting to practice the sport in question, but rather that the character is reluctant to participate in it, in fact the reason that he begins to practice it is to face a rival.
La trama no beneficia ni perjudica a Joe sin una razón de peso, es uno de los pocos animes que como mencione con anterioridad castiga a su protagonista si este se lo merece (Vaya que Joe lo merece en más de una oportunidad). El anime posee unos momentos bastante lúgubres en los cuales se ve al personaje en sus peores momentos llegando a incluso tener traumas que llegan a afectar su carrera profesional como boxeador, a su vez, presenta una evolución de personaje excelente todo gracias a una rivalidad que tiene desde los primeros episodios con Toru Rikiishi, el mismo posee mucha más experiencia y talento para el boxeo que nuestro protagonista lo que hace que su deseo de mejorar y superarlo sea su combustible para superar muchos obstáculos. Me atrevería a decir que este es una de las mejores rivalidades que se han visto en el anime.
