The first season of Re:Zero was difficult to watch. Whenever my boyfriend suggested me to watch it, i'll suggest another anime to watch and try to postpone it. For me, the anime was heart-breaking, depressing and dark. Sure, being able to start life all over again might be fun, but through this anime, we are shown how depressing it is to go through pain all over again just to find a way to save someone. Imagine getting stab thousand times, then go through it all again another thousand times, that's what Subaru gone through.
Then, just about a week ago, I was told that re:zero season two is aired and on-going. ." Are you sure you want to watch it?," asked my boyfriend half concerned cause I seemed so reluctant to watch the first season. But anyway, I dared myself to watch it.
I watched the anime with him half awake while eating porridge. Though some of the scenes was too much to handle, I handled it well. The blood and the crying were normal and I felt like jaded. I finally let go my attachment to Subaru, the main protagonist. I just view it as a character instead imagining what would happen if he was an actual person.
The first episode of season two, we will be introduced to new characters, which are the witch. I suppose these two witches are scarier and more powerful than sloth. I've not read the manga and I won't spoil myself. Even from the trailer, it looks like there will be more difficult and depressing arch. The first episode was just giving a tiny bit of the whole arc. Subaru crying was becoming normal to me. There's also no sign about his new ability too which I am quite stoked about. And that's something I am waiting for. Anyway, that's for now. I'll write what I think about episode 2 after watching it next week.
