Plot
In this case, we are talking about a collection of different stories that are told in each of the 12 episodes of the anime. Among them are the following:
- A photographer obsessed with capturing ghosts and spirits in photos visits the terrifying home of a family with six strange siblings.
- A boy decides to go in search of his mother who disappeared in a mysterious tunnel from which many people are said to have disappeared as well.
- An ice cream truck driven by a strange boy who hypnotizes people with his gaze passes through the neighborhood to invite children to go eat ice cream inside.
- After the alleged suicide of a famous Idol, the news reports of strange nighttime sightings of a giant head floating in the sky.
- A boy who lives alone in his house hears strange footsteps at night while sleeping or in the daytime while inside or out front.
- A woman who has exaggeratedly long hair from never having had it cut in her life wakes up frightened because a rat got caught in her braids.
- After a year of renting, the owner of a house finds the place full of mold on the floor, walls and ceiling, covering the entire house.

En este caso, estamos hablando de una colección de diferentes historias que nos van relatando en cada uno de los 12 episodios que tiene el anime. Entre ellas están las siguientes:
- Un fotógrafo obsesionado por capturar a fantasmas y espíritus en fotos visita la aterradora casa de una familia con seis extraños hermanos.
- Un chico decide ir en busca de su madre que desapareció en un misterioso túnel del cual se habla que mucha gente ha desaparecido también.
- Un camión de helados conducido por un extraño chico que hipnotiza a la gente con su mirada pasa por el barrio a invitar a los niños a que vayan a comer helados adentro.
- Luego del supuesto suicidio de una famosa Idol, las noticias hablan de extraños avistamientos nocturnos de una cabeza gigante que flota en el cielo.
- Un chico que vive solo en su casa escucha pasos extraños en las noches mientras duerme o en el día mientras está dentro o en el frente.
- Una mujer que tiene un cabello exageradamente largo por no habérselo cortado nunca en su vida despierta asustada porque una rata quedó atrapada entre sus trenzas.
- Luego de un año de alquiler, el dueño de una casa se encuentra con el sitio repleto de moho tanto en el piso como en las paredes y el techo, cubriendo así toda la casa.
- Un señor que ha vivido obsesionado con el cuidado de su propia biblioteca que tiene en su casa por temor de que algunos de sus más preciados libros sean robados de noche por un extraño visitante.
- Una pareja que va conduciendo de visita al pueblo de donde son sus familiares atropellan a una chica y posteriormente se detienen porque el camino está completamente cerrado por lápidas.
- Una estudiante de preparatoria que es transferida llamada Tomie amenaza a su compañera de clases por vender fotografías de chicos populares sin su permiso.

To begin with, if you are a true fan of the horror genre, this anime is for you, as it tells a huge variety of stories that can disturb and terrify anyone in more than one way. When I saw it at the time I was completely amazed (apart from disturbed) by the genius of the great Junji Ito in creating stories with characters that grab you and leave you with an image and a very strong feeling in your mind. Such a feat is achieved by very few horror series or movies of this last decade. It is not for nothing that our favorite mangaka is called "The Master of Horror".
Apart from having a good animation quality, one that does not leave you indifferent, at least, and that tries to detail in the best way the incredible shots of the most popular manga of our master Junji Ito, we can also count on very good sound effects and a soundtrack that catches and makes you travel. The voices are fine, but what hooks you the most is the design of the characters, not to mention that of the ghosts, monsters and creatures that seem to be taken from hell itself. Again, it's hard not to be disturbed by a work as spectacular as this collection.

Para empezar, si eres un verdadero fan del género del terror, este animes es para tí, ya que cuenta una enorme variedad de historias que a cualquiera puede perturbar y aterrar en más de un sentido. Cuando la vi en su momento me quedé completamente maravillado (aparte de perturbado) por la genialidad del gran Junji Ito al crear historias con personajes que te atrapan y te dejan con una imagen y una sensación muy fuerte en la mente. Dicha hazaña lo logran muy pocas series o películas de terror de esta última década. No por nada se le llama “El Maestro del Terror” a nuestro mangaka favorito.
Aparte de contar con una buena calidad de animación, una que no te deja indiferente, por lo menos, y que procura detallar de la mejor manera los increíbles planos de los mangas más populares de nuestro maestro Junji Ito, también podemos contar con muy buenos efectos de sonido y una banda sonora que atrapa y te hace viajar. Las voces están bien, pero lo que más te engancha es el diseño de los personajes, sin mencionar el de los fantasmas, monstruos y criaturas que parecen ser sacadas del mismo infierno. Repito, es difícil no perturbarse con una obra tan espectacular como es esta colección.

Among the many stories that are told, my favorite may be a couple or more, to be honest, as it's hard to pick a favorite out of all of them. Tomie is a very famous character both in the industry and in the country of the rising sun itself, the stories in which she appears fascinate me as they show you a dark and disturbing side of such a terrifying character. Although the one they animated in this collection is very well done, I personally think that it doesn't compare to others that they had already animated in other occasions. On the other hand, the story of the giant floating heads, the one about the giant thing that appeared on the shore of a beach or the one about the tombs are among my favorites.
When we see stories like the ones I just mentioned, it's hard not to marvel at the tremendous creativity that master Junji Ito has in creating worlds that are as fascinating as they are terrifying. And not only that, but the way he tells such stories that, although most of them are short, convey much more than a complete series. From disturbing moments to situations that take your breath away and your will to live, all this and more is what his stories convey with such impeccable ease that it seems to be from another world. Undoubtedly, this collection is just a small sample of the gigantic and terrifying universe that our favorite mangaka has.
Personally, I give it a well-deserved rating of 10/10 as far as the horror genre is concerned.

Entre las tantas historias que se cuentan, mi favoritas puede que sea un par o más, la verdad, ya que es difícil escoger una favorita de todas las que hay. Tomie es un personaje muy famoso tanto en la industria como en el mismo país del sol naciente, las historias en las que ella aparece me fascinan ya que te muestran un lado oscuro y perturbador de tan aterrador personaje. Si bien la que animaron en esta colección está muy bien hecha, personalmente creo que no se le compara a otras que ya habían animado en otras ocasiones. Por otro lado, la historia de las cabezas gigantes flotantes, la de la cosa gigante que apareció en la orilla de una playa o la de las tumbas están entre mis favoritas.
Cuando vemos historias como las que acabo de mencionar, es difícil no maravillarse por la tremenda creatividad que tiene el maestro Junji Ito para crear mundos tan fascinantes como a la vez aterradores. Y no solo eso, sino la forma en la que cuenta dichas historias que, si bien la mayoría son cortas, transmiten mucho más que una serie completa. Desde momentos inquietantes hasta situaciones que te quitan el aliento y las ganas de vivir, todo esto y más es lo que sus historias transmiten con una facilidad tan impecable que parece ser de otro mundo. Sin duda alguna, esta colección es solo una pequeña muestra del gigantesco y aterrador universo que tiene nuestro mangaka favorito.
Personalmente, le doy una merecida calificación de 10/10 en lo que respecta al género del terror.
