Plot
The anime introduces us to Mash Burnedead, a boy who was born in a world where magic is everything, a world where people are born with magical powers that, depending on their potential, can be used for their daily lives or to protect society from danger. The marks that appear on their faces demonstrate the level of magic and power that each individual can have, with those who have more than 2 marks being "elite" while those who have no marks at all are considered "undesirable". Mash, having been born without a mark, was abandoned as a baby. However, an old man finds the unmarked little one and, despite the danger he could be in by taking him with him, he goes with him to raise him in a forest.
The child grows up, estranged and without contact with society. Mash, despite not possessing magic, trains his muscles daily, thus achieving a superhuman strength that no one else possesses, all thanks to his monstrous and unrealistic exercise routines and his crazy diet. One day Mash, as a teenager, goes to the city to go shopping, something that his grandfather, who raised him, forbade him to do. When he arrives, he attracts the attention of people, especially the authorities, who notice that he has no mark. They go and chase him to the cabin, but he gets lost in the woods while the police arrive at his grandfather's place to force him to hand over his grandson. Más allá de ser un anime que impresione tanto por su animación, sus personajes o por su historia, este es ligeramente reconocido actualmente por ser de esas series que se han ganado el corazón de sus espectadores a base de chistes, momentos graciosos y de un protagonista “único” en su tipo. Dentro del mundo del “Shōnen” es normal ver a protagonistas destacarse por tener un poder excepcional o por su personalidad carismática e inocente, pero en este caso todo esto es llevado a lo absurdo al presentarnos a Mash, quien es un chico que solo piensa con los músculos, podríamos decir. Sin embargo, su gentileza y su increíble esfuerzo por enfrentarse a oponentes poderosos es admirable.
Por otro lado, los demás personajes que vemos en este anime, si bien tienen un desarrollo y una personalidad un tanto llamativa, no llegan a ser más que el simple grupo de “amigos del protagonista” que fácilmente pueden ser olvidados. A lo largo de la primera y segunda temporada notamos cómo este mundo donde reina la magia y el poder va y constantemente ataca a Mash, siendo este un tipo sin magia de ningún tipo. The fluidity and quality of this animation is amazing, although at certain moments that takes a back seat to funny or amusing scenes in the anime. The visual effects are excellent, with almost no 3D animation, which gives it a plus, personally. The sound effects are very well done and the soundtrack of this anime makes you forget that you are in a medieval world when you listen to that catchy rhythm (especially for the Opening of its second season, which became much more famous for becoming a trend). Anyway, an anime with a lot of action, a lot of comedy and a lot of magic and brute force.
Personally, I give it a rating of 8.5/10 as far as the action, comedy and fantasy genre is concerned.

Por último, el tema de la animación, si bien no es la mejor que se ha visto en estos últimos años, es cierto que está muy bien hecha. Y es que A-1 Pictures ha realizado un trabajo admirable en cuanto a animación y estilos de dibujo en sus últimos proyectos. La fluidez y calidad de esta animación es sorprendente, aunque en ciertos momentos eso pasa de segundo plano en escenas graciosas o divertidas en el anime. Los efectos visuales están excelentes, con casi nada de animación 3D, lo cual le da un plus, en lo personal. Los efectos de sonido están muy bien hechos y la banda sonora que tiene este anime te hace olvidar que estás en un mundo medieval al escuchar ese ritmo pegajoso (sobre todo por el Opening de su segunda temporada, la cual consiguió una fama mucho mayor por volverse tendencia). En fin, un anime con mucha acción, mucha comedia y mucha magia y fuerza bruta.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8.5/10 en lo que respecta al género de acción, comedia y fantasía.
