I have a very similar impression about Classroom of the Elite which seems interesting at first, until viewer realises that protagonist is a flawless genius who knows everything, predicts events with 100% accuracy, never wrong, wins every challenge/competition (whether intellectual or physical) and if he loses that is only due to his own choice to lose, as he plays some strategic 4-D chess game in which loss gives him more advantage in the future. And to make matters worse, he is lab-grown, being a product of some transhumanist science project to breed geniuses. Really...
While I do enjoy watching shows where protagonists act wisely, making good decisions in difficult circumstances, Classroom of the Elite is not a good example of those, being over the top with (admittedly smart) plot where protagonist (mis-)uses his superior intellect to earn point while his motivation to do so is poorly explained.
