Lately, my feed on fb was really riddled with announcements about various adaptations—may it be an anime or live action. But what really excites me the most were the anime adaptations of the mangas I've read years ago. So for today, I'm going to share with you all the top 3 anime adaptations that I'm looking forward to this year—specifically next month!
1. After-school Hanako-kun 2
This anime is based on the spin-off manga of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun that was also created by AidaIro. It is a four-episode sequel about the after-school adventures of Hanako-kun and Yashiro. It's basically less serious than the main story and definitely funnier! So if you're curious about what the toilet duo does during the times they're not fighting for the living and spirit world's balance, then gear up and together let's watch its sequel that's coming this October 7.
2. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii
This adaptation is based on a seinen romance manga that is authored and illustrated by Asuka Konishi. Being a slight red flag enjoyer, this manga is basically one of the dark romance mangas that I got hooked on before. The main lead was definitely a red flag—so were most of the other male characters in the story (duh, gette, what do you expect? a soft yakuza?). The first part was quite dragging for me, but like the other slow-burner mangas I've read, the stuff gets really good as soon as the story progresses. I'm not sure if there's a character development (maybe there's a little?), but the plot did really develop well, so I was really thrilled when I heard that it will be getting an anime adaptation!
So for those who aren't familiar with this manga, here's my personal brief summary about it:
This manga is all about Yoshino's new life with her fiance in Tokyo. At first, she seemed to find her fiance nice and charming, but like any other yakuza—he also has a nasty side that Yoshino would surely have a hard time dealing with. But fear not—because our fl isn't the typical soft girl. Being the granddaughter of a yakuza sure trained her to deal with troublesome people—especially those who threaten the people who are important to her.
So if you're up for yakuza romance with a badass fl and another lovable (for me) ml, then join me as we anticipate its premiere next month!
3. Dandadan
It's been years since I first started reading Dandadan, and unlike the other slowburn mangas that I've read, it already put me at the edge of my seat the time I finished reading its first chapter. That time, the chapters were just a few yet, but it wasn't that much of a cliffhanger because, fortunately, it's a weekly manga! The early chapters were hilarious—I really remembered laughing out loud uncontrollably to the point that my mother asked what's wrong with me (ahahaha XD). But Dandadan isn't just action and comedy at all because there's definitely a little bit melancholy in it. I don't want to spoil, but there were chapters that really made me cry—and upon seeing the trailer, I somehow caught a glimpse of how those would look when animated, and yeah—I'm already readying the tissues.
So for those who haven't heard yet this manga (which I doubt because this one's really awesome; why haven't you heard it?) here's a short summary about it:
Challenged to prove their different beliefs about supernatural beings, Okarun and Momo set out to the sites where the alleged supernatural beings that they believed exist. Unfortunately, both of their claims were true, and both of them were equally in danger of aliens and spirits! Can they escape the trouble they're in? Or will Okarun forever lose his balls and Momo her precious virginity to the supernaturals they never believed until that time?
So if you're up for an emotional rollercoaster experience, then together let's look forward to its anime adaptation that is set to premiere this October!
And that's my top 3 most-awaited anime adaptation that I'm really looking forward to this year. How about you? Are you also anticipating an anime adaptation this year? Feel free to share it down in the comments. Anyway, thanks for being with me 'til the end.
