Just this morning, I was scrolling through my fb feed and what I encountered shocked me. I just shared last week that the Sabbath crew won because that's what I've read...like last in the last chapter it seemed the announcer already announced Sabbath's win, but it turns out that the match wasn't finished yet. When I read the new update which is chapter 545, I was puzzled because the match is still ongoing, and that's when a realization came to me—Jay still can win. I'm really torn on whose to support but like I said last week, I'm kinda rooting for Jay. However, it also felt wrong to have him win considering how important it is for Vinny to win this match.
I really relate with Vinny's motivation because being broke would definitely make you desperate. I know he badly needs to win for his mother's sake, but still, I also want the Hummingbird to win. They're already at the last 400 meters of the match when the chapter starts, and the tension is apparent in their faces and the audience. With the gap that Vinny had built last chapter, the probability of Jay winning was getting smaller. Fatigue was apparent on his face, but that was wiped out when he suddenly remembered his uncle Mahon. I laughed because the moment I read that part, I knew Jay will gonna win—like that hallucination-motivation thingy wasn't new and mostly MC sees flashbacks and the people they look up to when they're about to get a boost up.
And that's exactly what happened because Jay won the match. I thought I would be happy to see him win, but I felt sad and somehow disappointed. I'm confused about what I felt because I thought it would make me happy to see Sabbath lose, but why does it feel bad to see Vinny cry? It's a good match, but it's heartbreaking to see him lose. Vinny already experienced a lot more hardships ever since he was a child, so I really felt bad that he needed to experience that loss.
But despite the heaviness I felt, I still wanted to hope that everything would turn out better in the next chapter. Vinny's disappointment and sadness are so affecting, and even though the Hummingbird really deserved the win, I couldn't bring myself to be hundred percent happy for them. Plus there's an unpleasant foreshadowing at the end of the chapter which could possibly lead to another heavy chapter. Hopefully, nothing really bad will happen on next update—especially to Vinny because god, he already got his quota with heartbreaks. He doesn't need another problem anymore, so hopefully he'll be spared.
