Hello, friends of The Anime Realm community! This time I am participating in the contest to create a new logo and image for this great community. Below I show you my proposal, what inspired me and some technical details.
My inspiration
Among the anime themes that most attract my attention is the epoch genre, which is characterized by the setting in certain historical periods, and the main reason is that this type of series allow me to see ancestral cultural aspects of Japanese tradition that I like so much, whether architecture, customs, outfits, landscapes, among others.
It is for the above mentioned, that I chose for the logo proposal a very traditional element of Japanese culture such as the Torii, an arch-shaped structure that is usually placed at the entrance of Shinto shrines, let’s remember that Shintoism is one of the main religious and philosophical currents of Japan, where it has its origin.
The Torii represents the main door to the spiritual world, marking the separation of sanctified and profane space, so people usually make a bow before crossing them, in other words it symbolizes the passage from the mundane to the sacred.
Technical details
For this logo I used two editing programs, illustrator and Photoshop.
From the Freepik page, I downloaded certain elements that I would later combine to achieve the final result.

Editing process
I used the Illustrator program to work all the design as a vector, this way I make sure that it has good quality.
I wanted to change the colors of the elements that I had downloaded, for example, the spiral circle, came by default in black, so I had to change the color to place the red I wanted.
On the other hand, the portal came in red and I wanted to soften it a little, and I didn't want it to match the spiral, so I changed it to white.
Now with all the elements I wanted ready, I went to Photoshop to assemble the logo.
To the spiral circle I added a Japanese cloud pattern with very low opacity, this in order to make it not so flat.
Then on top, I placed the Torii portal, which I wanted to be in the form of a drawing so as not to lose the essence of what an anime is, and I drew with the brush a line that would serve as a floor.
Finally, I wanted to add the name of the community, in this case I chose to use the initials of the community, this way the letters do not detract from the design.
As for the color palette used, I wanted to be quite classic. Here I leave the colors with their respective codes so that they can be used in a simple way.
For the cover image I wanted to use the Torii element to the sides, the logo at the top center and in the middle the full name of the community. I used a Japanese style ornament in black to frame everything.
All elements used for this post are free to download.
