the story

The film tells, in short and ample form, about the journey of "Kurumi", a girl who was a glamorous, prosperous and frustrated Susanna, in finding the love that was shrouded in overnight. Since the death of her lover, Hal, in a tragic air accident, she does not eat, go out, nor can she cry spontaneously. But the story takes place in the future, where automated robots roam among humans and coexist with them, and there are even many great useful and accurate machines. So they send her a robot that looks just like HAL, to get her out of depression and help her return to her normal life again. But that robot does not know anything about the life of its representative except that that girl is his friend and he must help her in any way. Will Kurumi obey that robot and open her heart for him to pull her out of what she is in? Or will her heart become scarred over the scars? This is what you'll learn when watching this amazing movie!
An impression of the story

This action is incredibly fluid and consistently packed. Every scene, even if it appears amputated, the presence of the scene that follows it, with its specific details and atmosphere, gives it a strong impact that overwhelms that amputation. The story in itself may seem simple and superficial and its feelings are fabricated, but between the folds of events there are some strings that give non-human entities, human feelings. And not just towards certain people, but towards everyone, and that's really cool. It is natural for the film not to delve into and discuss the philosophical concept behind the machine’s acquisition of human emotions, but instead the director highlighted many upward slides of HAL’s character development through events, along with the mysterious character Kurumi. The wonderful thing is that this velvet journey did not take more than an hour, and it felt like minutes, after which I discovered that the philosophical concept behind the idea of the film itself may remain a subject of debate for the human psyche for centuries!
The distinguishing feature is that there are some technical touches in the story, as the writer deliberately used symbolism in many scenes, for example there are many amulets of different shapes, Rubik's cubes that if you analyze them you will get a different sentence with each cube, and that sentence is associated with something. Between this and that lie many fancy buttons, which carry thousands of memories and situations for their owner. In addition to other nuances with connotations that are derived through drawing and the general atmosphere of some scenes.
Personalities:

The characters were not multiple at all, as the whole work revolves around two characters, and in fact, it revolves around one character, which is under the name of the movie: Hal. However, some characters are positioned here and there to create new situations for the main character, allowing her to discover herself and her partner further. But one of the side characters that caught my eye was the doctor, who was really fun and special. The old woman «Toskiko», is considered a living example of life wisdom stemming from self-satisfaction and what fate has become, whatever it is.
Drawing and Animation:

The film is produced by the studio, which is well known, "WIT", which is responsible for the most famous anime of this year, and which is the highest viewership, "Attack on titan". As well as the distinctive style of drawing, the studio created a wonderful atmosphere characterized by calm and comfort during the transition from one scene to another, and even had to draw the characters' faces professionally and fully highlight the innocence and purity of the self that appears on the face strongly. Besides, the combination of the light-toned painting style with the semi-rustic atmosphere of the city gives amazing relief to the eye, helping to complete event after event to enjoy the wonderful scenes more than the story itself.
Music:
Review of the anime "HAL": Love is in the heart and nothing else!
The accompanying music tracks were very appropriate for her, and what is distinctive about it is that if you make it sound in the background in any scene, you will find it completely applied to him. Herein lies the genius of creating music that fits the theme and content of the film in general, not just a specific scene. It is worth noting that the song of the end is one of the most beautiful things in the movie exclusively, as it entrenches the lesson of the film and its supreme idea strongly within you. The song is titled “Owaranai Uta”, and you can listen to it here .
