The first Christmas without Minato was heartbreaking for Hinako. Sometimes, she wished she just held onto him, so even if he’s gone, she could still be with him in the water. However, Minato had to sacrifice himself again… but the last time was for her and Minato’s sister’s sake.
She sobbed her heart out as she listened to the reserved Christmas greeting Minato left for her. She reminisced their memories together both when Minato was alive and when he was one with the water. But among those memories, there’s something that she wanted to re-live the most.
The next day, she took out her surf board and a bag of goods and headed to the ocean. She rode the waves with the intention of facing life head-on but with Minato’s memories tagging along with her. After riding some waves, she relaxed on the shore.
Taking out the stuff from her bag, she took some coffee beans she initially roasted… ground them with utmost care. Placed the ground coffee on a filter and slowly added water in a circling motion… letting the first batch subside and drip into the cup before adding more in the same motion.

It’s the familiar aroma she smelt the day Minato made the same coffee for her. It was mixed with the slight salty smell of the sea breeze which blended into a refreshing fragrance. She looked at the horizon and listened to the comforting sound of the waves before taking a sip of the coffee.
…and CUT!!!! Good take!

That was the commercial Hinako and her friends shot for the coffee shop she’s about to open. Minato may no longer be with her, but his dream of owning a coffee shop by the beach lives on.
The coffee scene from this anime really made a huge impact on me, so this came to mind as I saw the Wild Plot Wednesday topic. :)
