Yes, I admit I'm late... but it's better late than never, right? haha
When Sousou no Frieren was released in 2023, a lot of people got hooked, and I've been hearing and reading a lot about it. Of course, it got me curious, but as always, I try to avoid watching ongoing series and wait for it to be completed so I can binge-watch.
However, my to-watch list just kept on getting longer and longer, so it was pushed back along with other anime released in the same year. hahaha But finally, I decided to give it a shot.

I know that a lot of anime fans here have already watched it, but for the sake of those who haven't, allow me to share what it is about.

The members of the hero's party, Himmel (hero), Heiter (priest), Eisen (dwarf warrior), and Frieren (elven mage), have formed a bond after going through battles and interesting adventures in their quest to defeat the Demon King. After a decade, they were able to achieve not only their goal, but also precious memories together.

However, due to the elf's long lifespan, this 10-year journey with her party was merely a fraction of her life. She has a different sense of time, and somehow didn't really hold strong feelings toward their experiences together while doing their quest. After the party disbanded, she returned to her regular life and routine of traveling around and collecting spells.

After witnessing the deaths of her two human companions decades later, she somehow realized how their time together truly impacted her. She began to regret not spending more time with them and taking their existence for granted.
Because of this, she vowed to try establishing genuine personal connections and better understanding the humans she meets along the way.
This is a story of Frieren's new journey while re-living the memories she once shared with her party.

After watching the anime, I could finally understand the hype. It's a feel-good anime which could be exciting at times. I love it when she reminisces about her past experiences with her previous party and applies what she has learned from her previous comrades to the new ones.
I also like the fact that she could be clumsy and awkward despite being a powerful elven mage. It's amusing how she worries about and finds joy in the most trivial things.

There are also a lot of funny and interesting characters in the series. But among them, I love this boy who reminds me so much of Zenitsu from Kimetsu no Yaiba. He's crazy, loud and seems unreliable, but he has a great heart... he's also an awesome warrior, although he's quite unaware of his own potential.
I also like how each flashback was presented. They might be just bits and pieces, but you can imagine how their journey must have been during that huge quest.

When it comes to the technical aspects, I also like it. The art style, animation style and effects were all amazing and enjoyable to watch. In addition, the soundtrack, including the OP and ED, was great, too.
It was indeed a full package, so it's no wonder it's rated so high.
Although this type of anime isn't really my thing, I enjoyed it. I like its flow. I can see myself rewatching this, but it won't really be that high on my to rewatch list. hahaha
So yeah, that's what I think... how about you? Have you watched this before? Tell me what you think. :)
I'll end this post here. See you around, and have a good one! (^^,)/
