Once you love someone, you'll truly be alone.
This statement makes sense, doesn't it? Sometimes, we feel so independent and try not to rely on others. Sometimes, we try to create a wall... but for what reason? I guess it's because we want to protect ourselves. We're afraid because when we love someone, when we rely on other people, we become vulnerable.
But what would you choose? To isolate yourself to protect your heart; or would you take the risk and embrace every feeling and experience (be it good or bad) that comes with it?
Ok... I'm being quite philosophical here, but I can't help it. I just finished watching this certain anime which made me think and appreciate life and everything that comes with it. This animated film is called, "Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms".

The story centers around the life of Maquia, a girl from the "Clan of Partings". They live in a place called Iorph (thus they're called Iorphs) and are considered the living legends as they could live for centuries, yet they can maintain their appearance in their late teens. The Iorphs weave the happening of each day into a fabric called Hibiol. The vertical threads are the passing days, while the horizontal ones are the lives of mankind.

Our main character, Maquia, is an orphaned Iorph and somehow felt alone despite being surrounded by other people in their clan. One night, the peaceful life of the Iorphs was destroyed when the Mezarte army invaded their place alongside their captured beasts called a Renato.
Maquia somehow escaped... and as she wandered around the forest, she stumbled upon a baby who is crying. The baby's family was just killed. Having the same circumstance, Maquia took the baby with her and considered him her own.

As Ariel (the baby) grew up, his and Maquia's life has become interwoven. Let me show you the trailer of the movie below...

I cried a lot watching this movie. It's so heartwarming and I just love how the story unfold. Saying goodbye is indeed one of the hardest things that we can experience. It's never easy to do so, but with every goodbye, we grow, learn and experience life. Watching this movie made me realize how lucky I am to have my mama.
Blood isn't always thicker than water, because sometimes, the people we encounter and who we choose to be our family weighs more than some greedy blood relatives. (You'd understand what I mean when you watch the film...) Despite it being a fantasy movie, there are a lot of relatable realistic points that were addressed. It's indeed a movie with depth and substance. I totally love it!
The art style and animation are also really amazing. I especially like how the world in this anime was depicted.
All in all, it was worth all the tears I've shed watching this movie.haha I highly recommend this movie!!! If you still haven't watched it, please do so.
Thanks for checking this post out. See you around! (^^,)/
