Recently, I've been inserting anime-watching in my daily routine. It's an excellent way for me to relax and escape reality, as always. Well, there's reading manga and Webtoon, too!
These days I've been trying to watch several episodes of Tensura (short for Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken or That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime in English). I'm already in the first few episodes of season 2, part 2, and it has been a fun and exciting journey so far.
It's a pretty popular animated series, but for those who don't know it, it's an isekai series about a 37-year-old corporate worker named Mikami Satoru who was stabbed to death. As he was nearing his end, he heard a strange voice echoing in his mind, which was similar to when you're creating or customizing a character in a game.
When he regained consciousness, he was transformed into a powerful slime that could devour and mimic anything. So his new life as a slime in this magical world began.
It's so entertaining to watch so far, so I recommend you also give it a shot if you haven't already! :)
Anyway, in this post, I want to share a fan art I created of my favorite character from the series so far, alongside the slime version of Rimuru.
I used this A5 sketchpad. It got wet, but it's already dry now, and it's still usable. hahaha
As for the art material, I decided to use acrylic markers.
🎨
First, I did a pencil sketch of my fan art. I made the Kijin version of Souei, and he's holding the slime version of Rimuru in his arms.
After that, I traced the initial sketch with some gel pens. However, I noticed that Souei was missing his weapons, so I added them later on.
After adding his weapons, I lightly erased the initial pencil sketch to make it much cleaner. Now, I'm ready to color them! :)
This was my setup earlier. I'm drawing on the dining table, the part under the stairs where I usually work. I have my materials ready and my laptop playing some LoFi BGM. I also use the light on this small fan to brighten the area.
Now let's get back to the actual coloring. :)
🎨
I initially just wanted to use acrylic markers for this fan art; however, I don't have the exact shade of blue for his clothes and hair. Luckily, among the usable watercolor pencils is the blue one. Lucky! So, I used it for shading his hair and most of his outfit.
Finally, I added my signature and username to finish the fan art! :) Here's a closer look in portrait view below...
Souei is originally an ikemen type, but I love transforming my favorite characters into the pretty type, be it intentionally or unintentionally. hahaha
I like Souei the most so far because he's so cool. He's Rimuru's shadow and is the leader of their espionage team. He's so reliable and strong, too! I mainly go for the eccentric type, especially with a gap character, but I also admire the silent, mysterious types. Maybe for the eccentric type, I like Veldora or Gobta! They're both fun characters, too! <3
Also, I had to add the slime version of Rimuru because he's just too adorable! He looks so squishy like a stress-reliever ball. haha And I adore his blushing face. It's super cute! I love his character, too... because of the gap. He's such an overpowered cutie!
I'll continue watching the rest of the series, and perhaps check some of the special episodes and movies as well.
So yeah... that's it for this post. I hope you enjoyed my fan art as much as I did making it! Thanks for checking out this post, and see you around! (^^,)/
PS: I wonder what one of my Snaps friends thinks about this... Hello
^^
