I finally finished the last two episodes of the anime I'm watching. It's another sports anime, but unlike the usual ones I watch, this time all the characters are girls. :) Well, I did watch Major 2nd and majority of the team members were girls. It was exciting and the female characters were so cute and cool, so I got curious about this one. It's called TAMAYOMI: The Baseball Girls.

At first, I wondered because I had no idea what "Tamayomi" means. However, when the characters were introduced, it all made total sense.

Yamazaki Tamaki (catcher in the photo above) and Takeda Yomi (pitcher) are childhood friends. They have always been fascinated with baseball even when they were kids. They'd often go to the park and play catch ball together.
Yomi was full of potential and Tamaki recognized that. By throwing some rubber balls, Yomi tried doing a pitch which they both called "Magic Ball".
They got separated as they grew up, but both of them continued playing baseball. Tamaki became a skilled catcher who's known to never have a ball pass by her. However, despite Yomi's great potential as a pitcher, her team was mostly at the bottom.

Yomi who decided to quit baseball entered Shin Koshigaya High School where she met the twins Ibuki and Yoshino who were huge baseball enthusiast. She was caught up in their pace as if baseball didn't want to let her go. What more, she got reunited with her childhood friend who also went to the same high school as her.
They decided to play catch just like the old times... and that reignited Yomi's desire to play baseball again.

The two formed a battery and alongside the twinsm they decided to revive their school's baseball team which has been on hiatus following a certain incident.

It was actually better than I expected!
The storyline was a bit cliche, but it has a certain charm to it. The girls were very cute and the way they were drawn and animated was full of fanservice. I like it, so I'm not complaining... hahaha
They didn't really play a lot of games in the anime (since it's just the first season... not sure if they're making a second one), but the two main games they participated in were actually quite fun and exciting to watch.
What I like about it is that, the characters showed their vulnerability and strength in certain situations. Not only the main characters, but also the supporting ones really complemented each other. Despite not knowing much about the other members' background in detail (since there's just 12 episodes), I must say they're all pretty unique.
I wanted it to have more impact, though... Maybe I'm just too used to watching sports anime which really keeps my adrenaline level high. I don't dislike it, but it's more of a feel-good and slice of life type of sports anime.
Would I watch it again? Not really... However, if a second season is released, I'd definitely give it a shot. :)
I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading and see you around! (^^,)/
