I've been MIA again for the past few days. I haven't been functioning well. It's stressful, but it's ok... I can bounce back again. Not that I can go back to the past and fix things, like the character in this Webtoon I'm about to introduce, but at least I can do better now and in the future.
So yeah, this time let me tell you about an interesting time travel-themed Webtoon called The Academy's Genius Swordsman.

You can read it on WEBTOON website or on the Naver Webtoon app.
The story begins with Ronan, the main character, being the only man left of the imperial army after their battle against the giants. The fate of the world was in his hands.

As he roamed around looking for survivors, he saw one of his commanders, Grand Marshal Adeshan. She's already on the verge of dying, and it made Ronan even more sorrowful despite defeating the giant Ahayute.
The war being over was just wishful thinking because as they were talking, an enormous force of giants started to descend from the heavens. Ronan, although helpless, didn't seem hopeless.
He was still willing to fight to the end.

Because of this, Adeshan used her last time slip to send Ronan back to the past, attend Phileon Academy, and become the strongest swordsman in the whole empire. With him, the future might be brighter instead of her wasting another chance.

Despite his initial doubts, reality slapped him awake and forced him to believe that he was indeed back in time.
This Webtoon is really fun and engaging to read. It's still ongoing with 98 free chapters available on the website, though you can unlock the other available chapters in advance by paying coins or watching an ad if you use the mobile app.
I love the art style, and the storyline is to my liking. I haven't read many time travel or regression stories until recently, so I'm still able to appreciate the story.
One thing, though, at times he's too overpowered. Well, he's basically a regressor, and his only problem is the vessel or his younger body, which still can't withstand his current power. But perhaps in the coming episodes, we'd see even more growth because, for sure, his current strength isn't enough to defeat the giants without any casualties.
! On second thought, he also has several curses placed inside him, making it more difficult to unleash his real potential, but we'll see...
Anyway, I like the fact that he's not only brawny, but he's a pretty wise one. He's using his past to make decisions for the better... and the fact that he's not only relying on himself but is forming a group to help him conquer the inevitable is to my liking.
There are many interesting characters within and outside the academy. They may be supporting roles, but they're perfect puzzle pieces to curb the upcoming war.
Unfortunately, there were unforgettable characters I liked who made the ultimate sacrifice. I just hope Ronan won't put them to waste.

I caught up with this story a couple of weeks ago, and writing this post made me want to re-read it from the beginning. hahaha Perhaps, I'll have to wait for more chapters before I do so. For now, it stays on my "Subscribed" page, and I wait for a few months before rereading it from the beginning.
I don't discourage you from reading, though. Despite it having only around 100 chapters, it's worth it. Feel free to do so if you haven't already.
I'll end this post here. Thanks a bunch for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
