Eh, comparing it like similar to Berserk seems like a stretch, I'd say it is nitty gritty and grim, but it has enough hope and happiness to not be dark, at least for me. Still, I give it props on how it made the female hero tough, despite how visceral and bloody it gets, it feels to be in a right place as the fight scenes go brutal.
