Yeah, your title made me do a doubletake, a small one, I have never thought of the word "innocent" to describe Gon, not in a bad way, but that kid had many occasions and instances that showed how he was fine with killing and can be very ruthless even before the Chimera Ant Arc, if any thing, that particular dark arc just showed how much more savage he can be when it get's personal. But I'm not complaining, you don't get that many child protagonist who have the guts to resort to ruthless kill when necessary and still be positive and good with no conflict over it, especially when you consider how dangerous their world is.
