Today I want to share with you the newest addition to my small collection of anime characters. I must say, the quality-to-price ratio is excellent, and I'm impressed that there are now more places where I can buy them. In my city, the selection wasn't very varied, and they didn't seem to have many characters beyond the most popular ones or those from the current series. I don't know if I'm explaining myself well. In this case, I was helping to find Tomioka from Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) because this character sells out quickly, or the places that had him were a bit pricey. We wanted to see if there were other places with better deals, until I first came across a place that not only had him but also characters from Inuyasha, so I decided to check it out.

I wasn't supposed to buy anything, but I ended up getting Sesshomaru, and my sister got Inuyasha (not Tomioka). She'll talk about it on her blog. Anyway, I loved it first for the quality and size. It's about 10 cm tall, heavy, and has great details in the paintwork, the face, and other things. But the price was what finally convinced me. It cost $7, when Satoru and Dazai, which are the same size but lighter, cost me $8 about five months ago. I didn't think it was bad, if you ask me. Besides, it was the last one.
This little Sesshomaru joins my collection where I already have Tanjiro, Shinobu, Dazai and Satoru. There was a Yu-Gi-Oh! figure, but it was $30 and I couldn't afford it. Actually, this figure wasn't going to make the cut this month, but I couldn't resist the temptation to get it 😭 Don't blame me.
Anyway, I don't want to end this post without talking about this character (for those who don't know him) and why I like him—well, all the characters in Inuyasha. This character is the brother of the anime's protagonist, Inuyasha, with whom he has a great rivalry. Besides being half-human and half-demon, which he considers a disgrace to the lineage since he is pure-blooded demon, his attitude isn't just one of hatred; it's one of absolute superiority and disgust. Furthermore, instead of bequeathing him Tessaiga (Iron Reaver Soul Stealer), the destructive sword his "hybrid" brother Inuyasha received, his father bequeaths him Tenseiga (Heavenly Fang), a sword that cannot kill and only serves to heal or revive. Obviously, this is an insult to him, and he greatly covets his brother's sword.
However, even with his contempt for humans, during the course of the story he meets Rin, a little girl who tries to take care of him despite his coldness after he is wounded in battle. When this little girl dies, he uses the Tenseiga to revive her, not out of duty, but out of an impulse of gratitude/curiosity he had never felt before. And it is basically the story of a villain whose arc is not one of defeat, but of personal evolution and quiet redemption, which is why I love it, because it was the most beautiful character development of all. He was given the opportunity to understand what his father wanted to tell him and, not only that, to let go of his obsession (with inheriting his father's traits), but to accept his own path and the strength he possesses.
And it's not just his evolution that's appealing, where we saw a layer of humanity and vulnerability that made him much more interesting than a one-dimensional villain, but also his appearance and fighting style. While the protagonist is impulsive and sometimes immature (and yet still endearing), he's serene, composed, and possesses a great deal of control. That elegance is quite striking. Hoy quiero compartirles la nueva figura que se integra a mi pequeña colección de personajes animes, debo acotar que, la relación calidad y precio se me hizo muy buena y me impresiona que, ya hay como más sitios en donde puedo adquirirlas, pues en mi ciudad no era como muy variado y tampoco tenían como que más personajes fuera de los destacables o de la serie del momento, no se si me explico bien. En este caso, estaba ayudando a buscar a Tomioka de Kimetsu no yaiba, pues si se agota rápido este personaje o donde lo tenían, se nos hacía algo caro, queríamos ver si había otros sitios con mejor “oferta”, hasta que di primero en un lugar donde, no solo lo tenían, también personajes de Inuyasha y me di la tarea de pasar a ver que tal.

Se supone que yo no iba a comprar nada y terminé obteniendo a Sesshomaru y mi hermana a Inuyasha (no Tomioka), ella les hablará de ello en su blog; en fin, me encantó primero por la calidad y el tamaño, aproximadamente mide 10 cm, es pesado, tiene buenos detalles en cuanto a la pintura, el rostro y demás cosas, pero el precio fue lo que me terminó convenciendo de una, 7$ fue su costo, cuando el Satoru y el Dazai, que son del mismo tamaño y menos pesado me costaron 8$ como hace 5 meses, no lo vi mal si me preguntan, además era el último.
Este pequeño Sesshomaru se une a mi colección donde están Tanjiro, Shinobu, Dazai y Satoru, había un Yugioh, pero en 30$ y no llegaba, más bien esta figura no entraba 🤭a la cuenta este mes, pero no pude evitar caer en la tentación de tenerlo 😭 no me culpen.
En fin, no quiero terminar este post sin antes hablar de este personaje (para los que no lo conozcan) y el porque me gusta, bueno, todos los personajes de Inuyasha; este personaje es el hermano del protagonista del anime Inuyasha, quien tiene una gran rivalidad con su medio hermano, pues además de ser mitad humano y mitad demonio, considerándolo una deshonra al linaje, ya que él es sangre pura demoniaca, su actitud no es solo de odio, es de una superioridad absoluta y asco. Además, su padre en vez de heredarle a Tessaiga (Colmillo de Acero), la espada destructiva que recibió su hermano "híbrido" Inuyasha, hereda a Tenseiga (Colmillo Sagrado), una espada que no puede matar y solo sirve para curar o revivir, obviamente es una ofensa para él y codicia enormemente la de su hermano.
No obstante, aun con su desprecio a los humanos, en el transcurso de la historia conoce a Rin, una pequeña niña que lo intenta cuidar a pesar de su frialdad tras ser herido en batalla. Cuando esta pequeña muere, él usa la Tenseiga para revivirla, no por deber, sino por un impulso de gratitud/curiosidad que nunca había sentido. Y básicamente es la historia de un villano donde su arco no es de derrota, sino de evolución personal y redención silenciosa, por ello me encanta, porque fue el desarrollo de personaje más hermoso del todo, se dio la oportunidad de entender que le quería comunicar su padre y, no solo eso, de dejar la obsesión a un lado (de heredar lo de su padre), sino aceptar su propio camino y fuerza que tiene.
Y, no solo atrae por su evolución, donde pudimos ver una capa de humanidad y vulnerabilidad que lo hizo mucho más interesante que un villano plano, también por su aspecto y manera de pelear, ya que, cuando el protagonista es impulsivo y, a veces inmaduro (e igual se le quiere), el es sereno y con mucho control y esa elegancia, pues es bastante llamativa.
