Spoilers Ahead!
Recently I've watched Howl's Moving Castle. I cannot explain how much I liked this anime movie. Hayao Miyazaki is the director, and that is the reason it's so good. I was searching for a movie to watch, and suddenly I found this highly recommended anime film. My friends watched this long ago, and they have been suggesting that I watch it for a long time. I almost forgot the name, but recently I found it again.
If I talk about the trailer, the graphics and the animation are very soothing to my eyes. That moving ship on the mud got me very curious, and this curiosity made me watch this anime movie. Also, the female protagonist got cursed, and I wanted to know how she breaks her curse, so I made up my mind to watch this anime movie.
The story begins with the main protagonist, Sophie, who works at her father's hat shop. One day, Sophie was on her way to visit her sister Lettie, but two soldiers stopped her on her way and started to flirt with her. Then Sophie encounters a mysterious man; that man rescues her from the soldiers who were harassing her, and that mysterious man apologizes for being late. This leaves Sophie with a mixture of feelings, as she was frustrated by what happened.
But unfortunately, one day, Sophie was cursed by the Witch of the Waste, who was envious of Sophie's beauty. She cursed her to look old; because of the curse, Sophie became an old woman. At first, Sophie was broken; she was very upset, as she never wanted any of this to happen, but it was already written in her fate. However, this transformation of Sophie led her journey to become adventurous.
I could connect my feelings with Sophie, and I was able to understand what she was going through. I would also feel broken if something like this had happened to me. Aging gradually is normal, but suddenly becoming so old while having so many unfulfilled dreams is difficult. Sophie could have led a great youthful journey, but her fate had something else in store for her. It was not that bad, as she got the chance to meet Howl, who was none other than the mysterious man. But Sophie could not tell him the truth that she was the same girl. This scene was hurtful, as she had to remain silent in front of him.
Howl's Moving Castle was another amazing innovation; something like this can be imagined and is truly admirable. Like going from one place to another through just one door. This reminded me of Doraemon, as they have an anywhere door to go to any place they want. Truly, this was nostalgic to see this kind of theory. I truly felt like I want to get into the castle but it's not possible. Anyway, the most incredible thing was this moving castle which was truly amazing.
Next thing I didn't feel any romantic chemistry between Howl and Sophie in the beginning. Because she was not in her real form but he was still a true gentle man I meant to say he's completely a green forest, a green flag; I don't know how else to describe him. I liked his character very much and developed a crush on him too.
My review on this anime movie is that it's 100% reccomended, I would love to rewatch it again and again. If you haven't tried it yet make sure to watch because the storyline is unique and something that you have not watched before.
