The story begins with Cho-i Heyon, she's a C rank Tanker. She came to the dungeon with her boyfriend and his teammates. She is very naive and always nervous, prefers to stay behind her boyfriend because she lacks confidence.
As she loves her boyfriend so much that she could never deny him in anything. The day they went to the dungeon again Choi didn't want to go with them as she thought it would be bad idea to enter high rank dungeons.
But her boyfriend reminded her that she should be grateful for the last time and pay them back with her loyalty. Choi was scared but still agreed to go with them.
After entering dungeon there were too many bugs than expectation and in their team there were only three B rank hunters and 2 C rank which is Choi and Nara.
Everyone decided to retreat without telling Choi because they wanted to use her as a shield before they reach the destination to exit. When they were leaving Choi followed them but Choi's boyfriend Hyeonchan closed the doors on her face. Nara tried to stop him but she failed as she couldn't stop a B rank hunter.
Later Choi left with devastation still trying to stay alive and expecting her boyfriend to come and save her. On her way she found a tree where she found a hidden item which is a ring.
After collecting the ring she wears it and regained some powers a floating display appears and she gained the power of regeneration which says she can't die until the egg hatches. Choi was frustrated that she gained no other power and the bugs began to attack her.
She felt helpless as she could not fight anymore, it was hurting so bad that she died. In a while she was alive again and the bugs again started to eat her alive, in this repeated way she kept dying painfully and coming alive time stretches into years.
It has happened many times that she wanted to take revenge at her boyfriend and the people left her behind. In rage she picked up a sword and began to attack the bugs and her level started to increase, the more she defeats the more she gains power. She got bloodthirsty and promoted to A rank hunter. With this invincible power now Choi seeks revenge.....
I like the character development it happened fast that's how it seems but it happened in a long time like time escalated in the dungeon very slowly which is 634,434 hours, she eliminated all entities within the dungeon.
In the beginning she was only timid C-rank hunter. She only served as a tank and no one took her seriously. Even her boyfriend demeaned her. He used to manipulate her with sweet words.
Basically he was using her for his own benefits. But after spending the time in dungeon she became stronger, colder and haunted by something going inside her.
I truly like that finally there's a female strong protagonist who is playing as the main lead in this kind of story.
Usually the male's are chosen as protagonist in this kind of story but this manhwa has made it possible for the female's.
I am glad to see a strong woman who is bloodthirsty and crazy enough. Her personality has got much better because of the betrayal she received from her boyfriend.
The ring is mysterious, as it's found inside the dungeon so easily I believe that it's not that easy.
There must be a good story behind it and I think the ring comes with a cost. I feel the power is not for free of course it will take something from Choi.
But we don't what's that going to be, to find out the real thing I gotta finish the manhwa. There are currently 15 chapters and it's not free yet, you gotta pay with coins to read it.
So, I will wait for longer time to become free to read and I believe this manhwa story is going to be a hit because everyone will love to see a female protagonist with overpowered abilities.
I recalled "Solo Leveling" when I was reading it because it has the same trope as dungeons and hunters and similar ranks theory. So, if you have liked "Solo Leveling" then you will like this manhwa too, it's not the same story but the concept is similar.
The art is just fascinating, I like it so far. I do not see any kind of laziness, the artist has put a lot of effort to draw each and every chapter beautifully. It's as good as you would like to see in a genre of action and fantasy. The fighting scenes are really incredible.
"The Returned C-Rank Tank Won't Die" is a great manhwa if you're looking for cool actions and a crazy female lead with lots of potential then this is the manhwa you should be reading. I am enjoying it very much so I reccomend it. If you're sensitive to blood shedding then you should avoid it and it's suggested to be read by the adult/mature person. But it's one of the best Shoujo so don't miss it.
