To dream, or not to dream, a soul's lament,
Doomed with despair, a heart's cement.
What path to choose in this arduous fray?
Amidst the travail, which road to obey?
To seek, or not to seek, a fragile sign,
Reassurance for the meek, a light to align.
Thou knowest me not, a stranger's face,
The badge now gone, erased without a trace.
The golden necklace, turned to dust,
Dreams once vibrant, now covered in rust.
In this abyss of darkness, who to trust?
Is reassurance from the world a must?
Nevertheless, of who I am,
A nobody, lost in life's cruel plan.
What to dream, and how to dream anew,
When life's bright colors fade to somber hue?
