The Aiatar is a creature from Finnish folklore described as an entity of changing nature, capable of taking on various forms. It can manifest itself as a disturbing, seductive woman or, in other cases, as a gigantic snake slithering through forests and swamps or a crawling dragon covered in greenish scales.
It is considered an evil entity closely associated with disease, corruption, and misfortune. It is blamed for the spread of plagues, fevers, and even forest fires. Its mere presence disrupts the natural balance: fields wither, animals fall ill, and humans may experience sudden weakness or pain. In addition, it has the ability to seduce and deceive, luring men away and then disappearing with them, leaving them lost or destroyed.
