Blue feeling

Hoy quise hacer un dibujo usando solo tonalidades azules y aunque al principio me parecía un poco arriesgado porque no sabía si se vería bien, igualmente continue con la idea con mucho entusiasmo ya que el azul como he dicho muchas veces es uno de mis colores favoritos. Para mi este color representa la paz, frescura y además me da unas vibras bastante nostálgicas, tambien quise que este dibujo tuviese mucha textura como si fuese pintado a mano con pintura real, siento que logre plasmas exactamente lo que quería y sentía ya que estos últimos días he tenido el estado de animo muy alterado, me he encontrado con días en los que simplemente no quiero hacer nada y acostarme a recordar y extrañar partes de mi vida que nunca volverán y que no pude apreciar como debía.

Today I wanted to make a drawing using only blue tones and although at first it seemed a little risky because I didn't know if it would look good, I still continued with the idea with great enthusiasm since blue, as I have said many times, is one of my favorite colors. For me, this color represents peace, freshness, and also gives me quite nostalgic vibes. I also wanted this drawing to have a lot of texture, as if it were hand-painted with real paint. I feel like I managed to capture exactly what I wanted and felt, since these last few days I have been in a very altered mood. I have found myself with days where I simply do not want to do anything and go to bed remembering and missing parts of my life that will never return and that I could not appreciate as I should have.

Realicé mi boceto y luego comencé a pintar toda la piel empezando con un azul medio de base y luego poco a poco agregar diferentes tonos de azules dependiendo de donde quería ubicar las luces y sombras, normalmente suelo aplicar los primeros colores con un pincel difuso pero esta vez todo lo hice con un pincel duro con textura de tiza ya que quería que desde el principio tuviese mucha textura y asi podría guiarme mejor al momento de mezclar los colores. Poco a poco le fui dando forma a todo el rostro y cuando llego el momento de mezclar los tonos que puse lo hice de manera muy sutil y con una opacidad alta para que no se mezclaran por completo, fue muy difícil ya que estoy acostumbrada a no dejar demasiada textura.

I made my sketch and then began to paint all the skin starting with a medium blue base and then little by little adding different shades of blue depending on where I wanted to place the lights and shadows, normally I usually apply the first colors with a soft brush but this time I did everything with a hard brush with a chalk texture since I wanted it to have a lot of texture from the beginning and that way I could guide myself better when mixing the colors. Little by little I was giving shape to the entire face and when the time came to mix the tones I used I did it very subtly and with a high opacity so that they would not mix completely, it was very difficult since I am used to not leaving too much texture.

Para completar el rostro mejore la forma del ojo derecho que me había quedado un poco extraño y tambien pinte las cejas y pestañas. Para el cabello usé un color azul muy oscuro y luego agregue algunas iluminaciones sencillas con un azul un poco mas claro, luego para el fondo coloque un azul medio y pensaba dejarlo asi con un fondo de color sólido, pero al final pensé en colocar diferentes tonos de azul y tambien con ese efecto de “brochazos”, justo alrededor de la silueta probé colocar un azul muy claro y me encanto como se veía, finalmente aplique algunas iluminaciones al rostro y realice un leve ajuste de color.

To complete the face, I improved the shape of the right eye, which had come out a little odd, and I also painted the eyebrows and eyelashes. For the hair, I used a very dark blue, then added some simple highlights with a slightly lighter blue. Then, for the background, I used a medium blue. I was thinking of leaving it that way with a solid color, but in the end, I decided to use different shades of blue. Also, with that "brushstroke" effect, right around the silhouette I tried using a very light blue and I loved how it looked. Finally, I applied some highlights to the face and made a slight color adjustment.
