The golden sea

Hola amigos! Espero que hayan tenido un excelente fin de semana, hoy estoy muy contenta porque recién termine esta obra la cual titule “The Golden sea” quise hacer hoy una especie de retrato con un toque mágico, me inspire en dos cosas que me gustan mucho: El mar y los peces. Así que elegí un estilo fantasía/surrealista para este dibujo, pintando lo que mas me gusta que son los retratos, me costó muchísimo hacer el cabello ya que el tono blanco/rubio es algo que no trabajo muy bien, me gusta mas usar tonos oscuros como negro, marrón o incluso algunos tonos fantasía, sin embargo, hoy quise darle el gusto a un amigo que hace algún tiempo me sugirió usar ese color de cabello en algún dibujo, me anime a hacerlo aunque tarde horas solo en el cabello, incluso mas horas que las que me tomo pintar la piel jaja. En fin, espero que les guste el dibujo:

Hello friends! I hope you have had an excellent weekend, today I am very happy because I just finished this work entitled "The Golden Sea" I wanted to make today a kind of portrait with a magical touch, I was inspired by two things that I like a lot: The sea and fish.
So I chose a fantasy / surreal style for this drawing, painting what I like the most, which are portraits, it was very difficult for me to do the hair since the white / blonde tone is something that I do not work very well, I like more to use dark tones like black, brown or even some fantasy tones, however, today I wanted to please a friend who some time ago suggested I use that hair color in a drawing, he encouraged me to do it even if it takes hours just on the hair, even more hours than it took me to paint the skin haha.

Comencé por mi boceto para irme guiando mientras pintaba, aunque realmente el boceto quedo un poco extraño en la parte izquierda del rostro siento que estaba muy cachetona, pero arreglaría esto mas adelante con las sombras, usando un pincel difuso comencé a resaltar su piel con pocos colores básicos para saber donde ubicar la luz y la sombra, en una nueva capa agregue mas colores y tonalidades que darían forma por completo a este dibujo, seguimos en otra capa difuminando y mezclando los tonos hasta obtener una piel bastante suave.

I started with my sketch to guide me while I was painting, although the sketch was really a bit strange on the left side of the face, I feel that she was very chubby, but I would fix this later with the shadows, using a soft brush I began to highlight her skin with a few basic colors to know where to locate the light and shadow, in a new layer add more colors and tones that would completely shape this drawing, we continue in another layer blurring and mixing the tones until obtaining a fairly smooth skin.

Una vez que su rostro estaba listo comencé con el cabello, elegí un tono crema de base para pintar su larga cabellera, en una nueva capa comencé a aplicar las sombras, en este punto estaba un poco confundida ya que no me gustaba como se estaba viendo el cabello, decidí seguir y variar con mas tonalidades, agregando sombras y luces al cabello y creando unas especies de ondas para que su cabello tuviese movimiento.

Once her face was ready I started with the hair, I chose a base cream tone to paint her long hair, in a new layer I started to apply the shadows, at this point I was a bit confused since I didn't like how she was looking hair, I decided to continue and vary with more shades, adding shadows and lights to the hair and creating some kind of waves so that her hair had movement.

Después de varias horas intentando lograr el cabello perfecto, sentí que ya estaba listo, era hora de ocuparme de estos pequeños peces que estarían a su alrededor, algunos estarían rodeando su cabello y otros simplemente ella, en este momento me di cuenta que aún no había pintado su cuello y pecho, asi que lo pinte para luego proceder con el fondo, colocando un azul oscuro y luego una especie de mar, también dibuje unas ondas de varios tonos azules, me pareció un detalle super hermoso, decidí hacer que mis peces brillaran asi que cree una capa nueva debajo de ellos con el modo de fusión “screen” y tomando un tono naranja neón para que estos lindos peces resaltaran.

After several hours trying to achieve the perfect hair, I felt that I was ready, it was time to take care of these little fish that would be around her, some would be around her hair and others just her, at this moment I realized that there was still no painted its neck and chest, so I painted it and then proceeded with the background, placing a dark blue and then a kind of sea, I also drew some waves of various shades of blue, I thought it was a super beautiful detail, I decided to make my fish shine so I created a new layer below them with the blending mode “screen” and taking on a neon orange tone to make these cute fish stand out.

Dibuje pequeñas burbujas alrededor todo el dibujo incluyendo cerca de talles de luz y comencé a ajustar la iluminación y saturación toda la imagen, para obtener unos colores mas llamativos.

I drew small bubbles around the entire drawing including near highlights and started to adjust the lighting and saturation throughout the image, to get more striking colors.

De verdad espero que les haya gustado a mi me encanto este resultado, algo diferente de lo que estoy haciendo usualmente que suele ser un poco más oscuro.
