With free entry in the centrum of Olten city, Switzerland on car free street, inside the exhibition, you can enjoy, today is the last day, almost exclusively Swiss art, including top class individual works and important groups of works from the 19th and 20th centuries. Directly nearby you can finde also the Naturmuseum as well as the neighboring history museum.
I have not noted all the names therefore I just can name only a few pictures exactly.
Here two portraits from Paul Camenisch 1893-1970 with Bildnis, Martha 1932
and an portrait Hannes Meyer, 1953. They are the both of them Oil on canvas, 92 x 73 cm.
Here is a painting by Otto Staiger (1894-1967) with an the amazing Ticino landscape and view into the Mendrisiotto valley towards the Lake of Lugano, 1926. It is an oil on canvas.
Very iteresting is this paint from Niklaus Stoecklin (1896-1982) with a castle almost without windows, is painted with oil on wood, named the Castle, 1929-30.
Next still on the first floor a painting by Niklaus Stoecklin (1896-1982) which shows the vegetable still life, 1943. It is a small oil on canvas, 59 x 85 cm.
The rooms in the former residential and commercial building, which was adapted into the museum, have an original charm.
