Hey, there people. Today, we got another entry for the Splinterlands art contest; It's the River Nymph! (Well, as if you couldn't already tell from the thumbnail 😅)
The Process
This time around I tried focusing more on the details. While there was still a ton of details I had to keep in mind about adding glows and shadows, I tried giving her more details and particles.
I also added some different shapes for the background and I believe they looked well and resonated properly with things like "waves" and "water", so I kept them in and now that I think think about it, it sorta resembles River Nymph's hairstyle too, so that's goood :D
It was also the first time that I really paid close attention to colored glows and how they worked and went together with other colors. (As you can see on the side of her skin and edges of her hair which I think turned out fine and I'm actually considering using it more in the future)
Almost There
I ended up with what you can see below, but I kinda felt like something was missing - like some sort of depth in the painting. So...
The Result
In the end, I added some shadows around her to kinda mimic the deep sea vibe, and shift the focus and emphasis to her and her glow.
