Hello beautiful people!
I'm really enjoying analog life at the moment. I haven't been doing much online for the past few weeks and I looove it!
I've never been much of a computer person actually, working on a computer takes a lot of my energy, although I love and appreciate the opportunities that the internet offers, like sharing my art and connecting with like-minded people.
I just haven't really figured out how to keep a healthy balance I guess, but I'm learning.
The past few weeks I just couldn't bring myself to sit down in front of the screen (not even for digital painting), so I figured I'd just wait until the excitement to share comes back to me.
And today is the day! Yeih!
I've been painting a lot lately.
Like, really painting!
With my hands and brushes and real paint and everything!
I have been doing only digital art for years and I had (and still have!) so much fun exploring all its possibilities. But two months ago we moved into an apartment to take a break from vanlife for a while (and to escape the cold), so I bought some canvases and got out my old acrylic paints that I still had with me in the van.
Painting to me almost feels like not doing anything ^^
It is the farthest thing from work, it's more like meditating or going for a walk. I don't think much while painting, sometimes I listen to music or an audio book, but mostly I just focus on the colors and lines and relax my mind.
I love it so much and I'm so happy and grateful that I got back into it <3
This lovely blue cat was the first painting I finished.
I don't know why but I felt the need for having a blue cat in my life ^^
I had "designed" one digitally a while ago already, but it didn't transfer the soothing feeling I was after, it seemed that the cat was actually made for a physical existence :-)
Edit:
I changed the title of this post because my man just came up with an awesome title for the painting!
That was just what was missing and I really love it!
It's exactly the feeling I had while painting, so now it's the "Zen Master Cat" :)
It's painted in acrylics, shades of blue and green, with golden background and contours.
I even managed to take some pictures of the process!
(it helps that my Mum is very interested in seeing how a painting evolves and always asks for photos ^^)
I've already finished another painting, which I'll be sharing with you soon.
I got the opportunity to exhibit (and possibly sell) a painting in a coffee shop here in town which is really exciting, so I've created a little scene with lots of weird creatures hanging out in a bar :-)
Now I just have to say goodbye to it and take it there ^^
But for now, have another picture of me and the Blue Cat!
