Hey, a new painting with aliens!
But wait, what is that fluffy dog in the background, Ana? That's not really your style!
Yes, that's because it's not by me, but the work of a friend and fellow artist!
I had that fun little idea for a new painting and instantly thought of her and how great her style would fit in there!
I'm a big fan of her work and super proud that a piece that features the two of us does exist now <3
In the NFT-world she's known as "CryptoPom", and she was the first one who reached out to me on my, I don't know, second day on Twitter, when I was still so overwhelmed by the big wide world out there ^^
She invited me to a discord channel that she runs with two friends called NFTHypeSquad. I was so happy, because it's full of artists, mostly new to the space like me, and it was just such a relieve to find out that there are indeed friendly people out there, who I can connect with and share my experiences :)
If you're interested in seeing more of her work (and I would recommend it!) here's the link to her portfolio on Showtime and her Twitter:

This is the first sketch I made for my part of the painting.
The background is a macro photo I took of the concrete stairs outside of the house we're living in.
My idea was quite clear and I soon had what I was looking for :)
The only thing that caused me a bit of a headache was the UFO ... eh, I mean the Transgalactic Velocity Inducer (TVI).
For two days I tried out different looks and colors ^^
I painted in Krita but for the TVI I also experimented with several filters and effects in Affinity Photo until I settled for the version you can see in the last picture below.
We minted "The Pomerian is Always Watching" on Foundation today, if you would like to have a look: https://foundation.app/anafae/the-pomeranian-is-always-watching-26662
:-)
It's a platform on Ethereum where you set a reserve price for a piece and when someone places a bid the auction is opened and runs for 24 hours.
It's actually quite expensive to mint there. Two times the usual gas fees for Ethereum and Foundation charges a 15% service fee on the final sale price.
So I won't do that very often I guess ^^
But somehow I want to try it for this one and I have a bit of Eth left from selling my Mo-pieces a while ago.
Foundation has become quite popular in the NFT-space and maybe I can get some more eyes on my work this way.
Also it must be super exciting to do a 24 hour auction! :D
Well, we'll see how it goes :)
It definitely was a lot of fun to create this piece together with Pom and I love how it turned out!
I would love to do more collaborations in the future, it's such a fun experience to create something with someone else's style in mind. And to have a piece with something from me and from someone who's art I admire is just awesome!
So I hope you like our little alien-pomeranian-picture! <3
