Hello and welcome to my blog.
It's my first time posting in this community, and not only that, but it's the first time in a while that I finish a drawing, I finally made peace with myself, and although I know I still have a long way to improve, I'm proud of my drawing. Last week was Holy Week and it's impossible not to make a drawing referring to the theme, somewhere I had to reflect all that creativity I've been having.

Es mi primera vez publicando en esta comunidad, y no solo eso, pero es la primera vez en un buen tiempo en que termino un dibujo, finalmente hice las paces conmigo mismo, y aunque sé que aún me queda un largo camino por mejorar, estoy orgulloso de mi dibujo. La semana pasada fue Semana Santa y es imposible no hacer un dibujo referente al tema, en alguna parte tenía que reflejar todos esa creatividad que he estado teniendo.
Before I start with the step by step, I want to talk a little bit about the inspiration. About 12 years ago, the singer and pop star Lady Gaga released a single from her third studio album "Born This Way", this single was the cause of many controversies, but today it is still sounding and being known. "Judas" had many controversies at the time because Gaga decided to release it as a single in the middle of holy week, and it was not enough, she made a video where she plays the betrayal of Jesus, being Mary Magdalene herself.
So I thought "What if I do a little drawing about it?" because the video is one of the best and most blasphemous of her entire career, it is simply dark and exquisite. I wanted to give it an even darker touch and I put my touch on it, keeping one of my favorite costumes from that video.
Antes de empezar con el paso a paso, quiero hablar un poco de la inspiración. Hace unos 12 años, la cantante y estrella pop Lady Gaga liberó un sencillo de su tercer álbum de estudio “Born This Way”, dicho sencillo fue causa de muchas controversias, pero que al día de hoy sigue sonando y siendo conocida. Judas tuvo muchas controversias en su momento pues Gaga decidió liberarla como sencillo en plena semana santa, y no le bastó, pues hizo un video donde interpreta la traición de Jesús, siendo ella la mismísima María Magdalena.
Entonces pensé “¿Qué tal si hago un pequeño dibujo al respecto?” pues el vídeo es uno de los mejores y más blasfemos de toda su carrera, es simplemente oscuro y exquisito. Quise darle un toque aun más tenebroso y le puse mi toque, manteniendo uno de mis trajes favoritos de dicho vídeo.
STEP BY STEP
PASO A PASO
The first thing I did was, after finding inspiration, references and watching the video countless times, I started sketching. I have this detail that I always like to do the sketches, it is the part where I like the result easily, with a crayon pencil I made somewhat clear lines to facilitate the outline, and the truth is that I was extremely happy with the final result, although the "Judas" at the bottom I left it as a test, first I had to finish the drawing before seeing what ornament to put on it.
Lo primero que hice fue, luego de encontrar inspiración, referencias y ver el vídeo unas incontables veces, me puse a iniciar el boceto. Tengo este detalle que siempre me gusta hacer los bocetos, es la parte donde el resultado me gusta fácilmente, con un lápiz de crayón hice líneas un tanto claras para facilitar el delineado, y la verdad es que quedé sumamente contento con el resultado final, aunque el “Judas” en la parte de abajo la dejé como prueba, primero debía finalizar el dibujo antes de ver que adorno ponerle.

Then, with a lot of patience and an inexpensive pen I started to do the eyeliner. The truth is that the eyeliner is always my least favorite part, because I tend to get it wrong. I need to buy an extra-fine tip marker, but I'm just getting back to drawing, so I'm taking it easy and not rushing. I didn't love the end result, but at least it didn't look so nasty. I actually had complications and that's why the "skirt" line looks a bit thicker, but I was determined to finish the drawing.
Luego, con mucha paciencia y un bolígrafo económico me puse a hacer el delineado. La verdad el delineado siempre es mi parte menos favorita, porque suelen quedarme mal. Necesito comprar un marcador punta extrafina, pero apenas estoy retomando el dibujo, así que voy con calma y sin apuros. El resultado final no me encantó, pero al menos no se veía tan desagradable. De hecho tuve complicaciones y por eso la línea de la “falda” se ve un poco más gruesa, pero estaba determinado a terminar el dibujo.

I took a little break and let the drawing rest, but the truth is that I was terrified of ruining it when I added colors. I started with the base color of the drawing, with a skin color that would darken slightly in the shadow parts, but not too much, I just wanted to give the illusion of a skin without shadows. With this result I felt enthusiasm for the drawing again.
Me tomé un pequeño descanso y dejé que el dibujo reposara, pero la verdad es que estaba aterrado de arruinarlo cuando le echara colores. Empecé con el color base del dibujo, con un color piel que iría oscureciendo levemente en las partes de sombra, pero no mucho, solo quería dar la ilusión de una piel sin sombras. Con este resultado volví a sentir entusiasmo por el dibujo.

Then I added some makeup (a bit heavy, I wanted to give her that somber look from the video), I also did some dark claws, trying to give them a wine color that resembled blood but without being blood. The color of the eyes was quite similar to the green of Gaga's eyes, but a bit more animated, almost more colorful. My original idea was to make them bloody eyes, but I liked how it turned out and I discarded that idea.
Luego le agregué maquillaje (un poco pesado, quería darle ese aspecto sombrío del vídeo), también le hice unas garras oscuras, tratando de darles un color vino que se asemejara a sangre pero sin llegar a serlo. El color de los ojos lo hice bastante parecido al verde de los ojos de Gaga, pero un poco más animado, casi más colorido. Mi idea original era hacerles ojos sangrientos, pero me gustó como quedó y descarté dicha idea.

In the end I decided to paint the clothes she is wearing first. I used a red bordering on pink, mixed it with a carmine red and it had just the result I was wishing for. I was loving the drawing more and more. It was sensual, blasphemous, gloomy, perfect to do at Easter and have a little fun. The colors of the costume made her makeup and skin pop.
Al final decidí pintar primero la ropa que tiene puesta. Use un rojo que raya en el rosa, lo mezclé con un rojo carmín y tuvo justo el resultado que estaba deseando. El dibujo me estaba encantando cada vez más. Era sensual, blasfemo, tétrico, perfecto para hacerlo en Semana Santa y tener un poco de diversión. Los colores del traje hicieron que su maquillaje y piel resaltaran.

The final step was to color her hair. I admit I feel like I hated the hair color. I didn't test the color I would use and applied it directly on the drawing, that's why the shadow and the rest of the hair I don't like the way they look. However, I didn't stop, I finished it and this is what the hair looked like. When I looked at it several times I realized that it wasn't bad, I just had to finish it and, as I always do, leave the drawing, not seeing it for a while, when I see it again it is always better than how I remembered it.
El paso final fue colorear sus cabellos. Admito que siento que odié el color del cabello. Y es que no probé el color que usaría y lo apliqué directo en el dibujo, por eso la sombra y el resto del cabello no me gusta cómo se ven. Sin embargo, no me detuve, lo terminé y así quedó el cabello. Al mirarlo varias veces me di cuenta que no había quedado mal, solo debía terminarlo y, como siempre hago, dejar al dibujo, no verlo por un buen rato, al volver a verlo siempre es mejor de cómo lo recordaba.
And that was it, I had my drawing finished, I added upside down crosses and the word Judas that I had included at the beginning, with reddish tone that maybe emulated blood, it was just a little idea. I cut it out and proceeded to take the final photos, which I loved because they make the drawing stand out. Here I share with you how I got my Lady Gaga in Judas a little bit gloomier.
Y listo, tenía mi dibujo terminado, le añadí cruces volteadas y la palabra Judas que había incluido al principio, con un tono rojizo que emulara quizá sangre, fue solo una pequeña idea. Lo recorté y procedí a sacar las fotos finales, las cuales amé porque hacen resaltar bastante al dibujo. Acá les comparto como me quedó mi Lady Gaga en Judas un poco más tétrica.
