Here’s my drawing for the Splinterlands Art Contest. This week’s contest, I chose to draw the portrait of “Xander Foxwood”.
This card is one of my favorite cards. I like his hair color and also wings . The colors and features were just so right and I decided to draw his female version . I wanted to turn her into a gorgeous nymph. So I sketched a beautiful girl with big eyes and mouth. I drew the wings at the end because I wasn’t sure how I wanted its shape to be.
I liked the coloring process so much. I often use dark colors tones but for this one I used bright ones which was a bright idea. ^^
I colored her hair red and used darker and lighter red tones to determine her hair strings’ direction. And then I used a light brush for highlighting and also draw some white strings.
For the background I used a textured brush to add the leaves. After I finished coloring her wings and dress( the leaves) I used a noise brush to give it some texture.
After I finished this piece, it quickly became my one of favorite entries.
