This is a time of year when flowers can be seen everywhere—on trees, bushes, rosebushes, small wildflowers and huge blooms in the most varied colours. Spring is a beautiful season, and the greenery and flowers continue into the summer. This got me thinking about nature; those who follow me know I love it. But as well as possessing a powerful energy, nature is always watching us, always attentive to us, and we don’t realise it. Often it reacts to the things we do to it, especially what the world’s powerful do, harming it on a massive scale. That will always have consequences.

But nature is also fractal, with patterns that repeat endlessly, as in flowers, as if it were a great consciousness that sees everything, that is everywhere, perhaps even having eyes within the flowers themselves. The fact is that we are part of it, and caring for nature is caring for ourselves; looking within and improving ourselves is important, and in this regard, nature plays a fundamental role.

Esta es una época en donde las flores se pueden ver por todas partes, árboles, arbustos, rosales, flores pequeñas y silvestres y otras enormes y de los más variados colores. La primavera es una estación hermosa y el verde más las flores continúan durante el verano. Esto me hizo pensar en la naturaleza, los que me siguen saben que me encanta. Pero además de tener una energía poderosa, la naturaleza siempre nos observa, siempre está atenta a nosotros y de eso no nos damos cuenta. Muchas veces ella reacciona a las cosas que le hacemos, sobre todo lo que los poderosos del mundo hacen lastimándola a gran escala. Eso siempre tendrá consecuencias.

Pero además la naturaleza es fractal con patrones que se repiten sin cesar, como en las flores, como si fuera una gran conciencia que todo lo ve, que está en todas partes, tal vez teniendo ojos hasta dentro de las flores. El hecho es que nosotros somos parte de ella y cuidarla es cuidarnos, mirar nuestro interior y mejorar es importante y en ese tema la naturaleza tiene un papel fundamental.

Design process

The design was created entirely in Photoshop CS6 without the use of AI, using 11 royalty-free images spread across 30 layers.

First, I created a grey layer, onto which I placed the watercolour image with colours resembling a landscape, stretching it at the sides until it covered the entire design; I did this across two layers using the ‘Spot Light’ and ‘Darken’ blending modes. Then, on top of that and using the Hard Light blending mode, I placed the image of the blue splash in various positions, but on each layer I changed the colour via Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation, and on top of all this I placed the image of the splashes using the Darker Colour blending mode.

I then worked on one of the fractals using the Overlay blending mode, and placed the image of the open flower on top of it, very large, filling the entire design, using the Spot Light blending mode. On top of this, I placed the two fractals with dark backgrounds, having first erased the background, in two layers, each with the ‘Lighten’ blend mode, together with the watercolour or paint image that looks like coloured smoke, using the ‘Darker’ blend mode. And on top of this, I placed the blue fractal with a transparent background using the ‘Divide’ blend mode to give it plenty of light in the animation.

I then worked on the flower across four layers, in different positions, in normal mode, and placed the image that looks like a fusion of a tree and an eye on top of them, using the spotlight blend mode. From this same image, I created two larger layers to place on either side of the design.

Finally, I worked on the image of the woman across three layers, having first removed the background, using spotlight, lighter colour and normal blending modes; the latter is just half the face, and I added light using filters.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado completamente en el programa Photoshop CS6 sin uso de IA con 11 imágenes sin derechos de autor distribuidas en 30 capas.

Primero hice una capa de color gris, sobre la que coloqué la imagen de la acuarela con colores que parece un paisaje, estirándola por los lados hasta cubrir el tamaño del diseño, lo hice en dos capas con fusiones de luz focal y oscurecer. Luego sobre lo anterior y con fusión de luz fuerte, coloqué en distintas posiciones la imagen de la mancha de color azul, pero en cada capa le cambié el color en imagen-ajustes- tono/saturación y sobre todo esto puse la imagen de las salpicaduras con la fusión de color más oscuro.

Luego trabajé uno de los fractales son la fusión de superponer y sobre el puse la imagen de la flor abierta, bien grande, ocupando todo el diseño, con la fusión de luz focal. Sobre lo anterior dispuse los dos fractales que tienen fondo oscuro, borrando éste previamente y en dos capas cada una con la fusión de luminosidad junto con la imagen de acuarelas o pintura que parece humo de colores, con la fusión de color más oscuro. Y encima de esto puse el fractal azul con fondo trasparente con la fusión de dividir para darle mucha luz luego en la animación.

Posteriormente trabajé la flor en cuatro capas, en distintas posiciones, en modo normal y encima de ellas puse la imagen que parece la fusión de un árbol y un ojo, usando fusión de luz focal. De esta misma imagen hice dos capas más grandes para colocarlas a ambos lados del diseño.

Finalmente trabajé la imagen de la mujer en tres capas, borrando previamente el fondo, con fusiones de luz focal, color más claro y normal, esta última es sólo la mitad del rostro y le añadí luz con los filtros.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
